I’ve enjoyed stopping at the top of Monarch Pass since before I lived in Colorado and that’s been more than thirty years. The Monarch Crest Tram is always a favorite. A ski-resort-like tramway whisks guests from the gift shop parking lot to the top of the Continental Divide. The views are great and on some days they are nothing short of spectacular. While there’s really nothing at the top but the views, they are worth the modest cost of the round trip ride. It’s not a place you’ll forget. Built before I was born, the old areal tramway had a major upgrade in 2015 and it became part of the Monarch Mountain Ski companies holdings in 2022. Extremely disappointing for this information to be incorrect, particularly noting families with young children commonly travel further distances for...

And the views from the top were fantastic. It’s rare you do something like this and it’s beautiful in every direction. I would just warn you if you have kids that run, there are not barriers at the top, so just be vigilant of you bring a runner. Great experience, it was run by very nice people, and they had an easy parking with a...
