Cloudy, misty day as the tide receded. Good day for a beach walk I figured. Since shellfish season is closed here, I just enjoyed a walk out the spit- picked up one of those balloons with the aluminized coating that was snagged on a piece of driftwood. Enjoyed a nice crunchy walk on the barnacle crusted rocks and piles of empty oyster shells in the tidal Basin. Maybe next time I'll wear shoes, or not. Great time all around.

Not what I expected of a state park, more like a local beach. Parking was right in front of people's house so that felt weird. Home owners were waving at me from their patios as I walked the beach. This was supposed to be connected to the Shine tidelands State Park but I didn't go that far down. Was okay,

First time visiting this nice beach for shellfish harvesting. Parking is very limited and the pathway down to the beach is on a bit of a downgrade that was slightly difficult for my dad to get down. Picked up eight nice oysters, several large butter clams, and a few Manila clams in under an hour. Fairly rocky shoreline with a fine compacted sand surface away from shore. Not mucky like I've...
