Porter Beach — Attraction in Porter

Absolutely beautiful spot! The parking is close. We got here early around 8:30 and had plenty of spots to choose from. It was getting full when we left around 10. It is $25 to park but it's a 7 day pass (I believe). I saw online you can buy an annual pass for $45 which is a better deal if you plan on coming back! (We were able to buy our parking pass when we got there but I'd suggest getting it early)

Also, with going early, the sand wasn't hot to walk on which was really nice!

The beach is nice and not over-crowded the 3 times we've been thus far. Cost I stated below is misleading...it's free to access the beach as far as I know but it's parking that you have to consider bringing some cash for the closest privately-owned lot ($20-30) or get a day/season pass (as of 2022, $25/45+) and hope there's room in the 2...

It is almost impossible to park at Porter, which is allegedly always busy. There are two small parking lots offered, which were full by the time we got there around noon. We were directed at the Indiana Dunes National Park visitor center to go to Kemil beach instead, which ended up...
