The views of the valley are breathtaking. After walking to the top of the peak this park is one of the largest and most beautiful parks in the world. It’s great to just create some time and space for just a day to visit and discover the beauty of this place, among pristine forests, mountains, a stream of water between boulders and rocks A very scenery experience also try to climb high in the park, you will enjoy a spectacular view, and if you go at sunset, it becomes all magic. absolutely recommended, it is a place that remains in the heart.

We happened to drive out to Powell Butte Park when we had some free time before our flight, and it was a good choice! Mt. Hood is in the distance, and finally we got to see it in clear conditions. We had no idea that Mt. Saint Helens was also viewable from there! On our way back down to the car, we saw a coyote roaming a field. Only an hour or so spent there but it was very special. Sorry, the good coyote pics are on my phone. (I should stop making that an excuse.)

Had a lovely hike with the dog. It was rather busy but that is to be expected on a sunny weekend in winter. There are many trails to explore and they are pretty well marked. You can expect dogs, horses and bikes on most trails so keep your head up. There is a lot of wildlife as well. We saw many different birds, deer and evidence of coyotes. Great place for a casual hike close to town.

A great place to walk the mostly paved trails...with views of the surrounding volcanos, wild flowers, and picnic area... The only down side is the lack of parking. We ended up parking down the street across the main intersection and hauling our picnic supplies up the hill...On our last visit the bathrooms were closed due to vandalism. Other than that it is a beautiful place to spend...
