Ramona (the proprietress) has created a gorgeous sanctuary teeming with the most adorable forms of flora and fauna. The lavender fields are so beautiful and fragrant you may be transported to the south of France for an hour or so. The charming miniature donkeys and sweet babydoll sheep with their sheepish grins, are sure to make to smile and forget your cares. Sunderland Acres is an enchanting place overflowing with natural beauty, kindness, nature with a sustainable outlook and desire to keep a beautiful balance with nature. Artists love to paint the lavender field, it’s a family friendly place that little ones enjoy very much. Ramona releases special butterflies. I took my mother (83 yo,) daughter (25 yo,) and her girlfriend. Ramona, the owner, gives a lovely tour of her urban farm. The fields, garden, animals and boutique, along with her history & future plans kept us all engaged. The lavender lemonade on arrival was delicious. We treated ourselves to lavender ice cream at the end. I learned about the variety of lavenders and their applications. It’s 20 minutes from Vancouver. The property is two and a half acres. Easy to walk however, Ramona drove my mother in a golf cart due to walking difficulties. You can bring a lunch & enjoy it on the property as well. I’m looking forward to seeing the butterfly release next year. This is perfect for a ladies group, Mother’s Day or birthday adventure or gift card. So...

We got to visit the farm today and go on a tour of the farm and all the animals with Ramona. This was a perfect activity before flying out as the farm is located near the airport. We were able to indulge on the lavender ice cream from Kate’s Ice Cream while we were there. The ice cream was so creamy (it’s vegan!!) and made with the lavender from the farm. I enjoyed the whole experience and was able to learn more about lavender!! There are soaps, lavender and other cute items available for purchase and made great gifts for family.
