The splendor of this park is overwhelming! Truly breathtaking. Such diversity in flora and fauna, pollinators and bugs! The sounds of the varied species of birds singing was soul soothing. So much hard work has gone into creating this oasis. An easily accessible kayak launch, children's park, marked paths to meander, educational/informational signage & posts and a covered picnic area! Recycling options, and pet waste stations! Wow! So well thought out. The only blip on my visit was the Porta potty station. One was turned over on its side, the other had no lock. Other than that, I cried tears of happiness as I took a gazillion pics! A true hidden gem nestled in an industrial corridor at the base of The Jordan Bridge... which is another great spot to visit. Go. Don't wait. Deep soothing breaths and smiles of pure delight are in your future when visiting here. Support our green areas, local & migrating species. *Thank you to all of the individuals involved in the creation and maintainence of this magical piece of tranquility. Your hard work is appreciated and enjoyed deeply! You are making a difference in the world!...

The only unfortunate thing you see is off on the distance you can see a power plant but they give you some detail about it and what the plant does and how is actually better for nature then others. I would recommend giving this a walk through, it also has a park in the beginning, so if you just wanna bring your little one(s). It took us about an hour to walk the entirety of the trails, with...
Read moreI'm new to the area and miss my quieter hilly trail hikes in Richmond. This place was recommended. I went and can definitely say it was much better than the muddy or very busy paved trails I've experienced thus far here with my pup. I didn't expect fun hills or rocky terrain here in Chesapeake like I had in Richmond but the trails are fairly scenic and well maintained. The signage is a bit confusing as to which trail you're on, but I will definitely be a frequent visitor here as it's close to home. DO bring bug spray. I forgot mine. The woodsy areas are quite well populated by mosquitoes. But the sunnier open sections...
