C&O Canal Lock 20 — Attraction in Potomac

This is a very nice looking visitor center. My friend and I came through the area around 10 a.m on a week day, and probably in the off season so unfortunately nothing but the rest rooms were open. Maps of the location and historical placards / markers were available to tell me more about this site.

Lock 22 also known as Pennyfield Lock has a nice campground by the river. The Lockhouse can be rented overnight. President Cleveland stayed at the Pennyfield Inn (demolished recently) directly across from the Lock House to go fishing and escape the demands...
