Park rangers at this park are on a power trip. I simply asked what happens if i am few mins late to get to my car after hiking and the ranger goes, I will call the cops on you if I see your car here after 6:45. P.m.

I sensed a bit of prejudice coming from ranger Zack. Now you know where your tax dollars are going. Somebody needs to audit their department. I feel something fishy is going on. They are supposed to protect people, but instead I was treated like an enemy or like a criminal instead.

Won't be back to this park ever again and I been to many parks around the country. But never had such a treatment from any rangers for asking a simple question about parking. So disgusting and I am dissapointed at their department for allowing an intimidating...

The park is one of most beautiful hidden gems in CA. They do a great job protecting the water, which is crystal clear most of the year. The park has allot of amenities, including great running and hiking trails.

However, I would not catch or eat a single fish from the lake. We went fishing once and caught a few fish. They were completely infested with parasites. One fish we caught had over 20 parasites clinging to it as well as worms in the meat. While the lake overall is very beautiful, the park needs to do something about the parasites in the water.

Park service employee are great and...

Easy little hiking trail for those so inclined. The lake is serene and the ambience is like a quiet lakeside retreat. You can picnic and canoe or go fishing with your buddies. The lodge is equipped with patio seating and picnic tables with snacks and beverages to purchase for both before and after the journey around the lake. The trails were very dry and dusty my last go around and I managed to slip and fall and gash my leg so I recommend a good pair of cleated hiking shoes and a walking stick, because the even the beginner courses out here in the California hillsides are not for the...

Pretty lake, clear, lake and peaceful walk around it. Don't be fooled, the hike around the lake is up and down with many hills the whole time. It's a great shorter hike and workout. Various places are shaded throughout. Portapotties are mostly located on the right side of the lake on the path that goes counter clockwise. You'll pass people periodically on the hike on slow days and moderately on busier days. Dogs and horses are seen on the trail.

Great place for trail running! The loop is a little under 3 miles with approximately 500 ft of elevation. Most of the trail is smooth, and there are plenty of nice views of the lake! I went early and it wasn't too crowded. But it was cold! There's a $10 fee if you're from out of town. The best part is the bathrooms. The trailhead has bathrooms, and the trail has several porta potties.

A hidden gem in San Diego. An amazing spot for hiking and a picnic. I wish I discovered this place earlier, this is no one of my favorite places in San Diego. With the recent string of rain that happened in San Diego makes this park currently one of the most green and beautiful places in San Diego. I would recommend this place any day especially after the end of the rainy season.
