If you want to take a 20 minute drive on a weekend to relax and enjoy a refreshing cold drink of ARTESIAN WELL WATER with the family, or alone; head to Prattville, Alabama (608 Doster Road). Every few months on so we drive up and replenish our containers and head back down the road. Today, we met a local whom now lives in Georgia but he comes home once a month for water. Also, there was four cars in front of us filling up as well. So be prepared to wait in line, socialize and discuss the great benefits of "free flowing well water"!! This is a swimming hole, free flowing creek, park and a historic site for your viewing pleasure. See attached pictures and video. Apparently, a "1933 edition of the Prattville Progress noted that there were more than 400 of artesian wells in Prattville and its immediate vicinity, some of which supplies the town's water system". Wow! I wonder where all 400 of them are located. Guess I will start me a " Where's Danita at today" blog searching for the many wells in AUTAUGA COUNTY, Alabama. Check it out today and let me know what you think....

Maybe it's the fact that the people that live across the street from the well, (left trailer) will wait til you get outta your car and are almost to the well, to run past you, slip n slide 1993'style with their tea pitchers just cutting in front of you, BAREFOOT at that. 😫😫😫 on a positive note, I made sweet tea with this water, and it was probably a good 7 whole days later. It tasted the same as the day I made it🤷🏼♀️. just as fresh and crisp.. had it been sink water, it probably would have disintegrated the rubber maid pitcher. May the odds forever be in your favor with field day 95's reigning Turkey trot champion from across...
Read moreThis is a fantastic place to visit to refill water. Can be busy at times so be patient and prepared to wait. I never come in a hurry. There is a popular creek/park directly behind the well house that always seems to have a crowd enjoying it. My only negative feedback is parents ...please... this isn't a shower or bath tub for your dirty kids. I've seen on more than 1 occasion parents bathing their kids right in and under the water where people are waiting to fill up their jugs. If you must, get an empty jug, fill it with water and pour it over them away...
