Wicked Tulips Flower Farm in Preston, Connecticut offers an incredible experience of walking through acres of colorful tulips, picking your own bouquet, and participating in various events, including yoga classes!
Wicked Tulips Farm is known for its massive collection of tulips, with over 1.5 million blooms in various colors and varieties. The farm has three locations, with the Preston location being the largest and newest. With over 700,000 tulips ready to be picked, the farm is a sight to behold.
The tulips at Wicked Tulips Farm grow on over five acres of land, with more than 150 different varieties of bulbs planted. The farm periodically updates a bloom report on its website, so guests can plan their visit accordingly. The bloom season lasts for only a few weeks in the spring, and it's recommended to book tickets in advance as they sell out quickly.
They also offer a weather report in case they have to close the farm. In my case there was a thunderstorm forecasted for the day, so the Wicked Tulips staff decided to close the farm for the day due to heavy rain and mud in their parking lot. I appreciate that they care about the safety of their guests above everything. They sent a follow up email that they will honor our tickets on a different day or get a refund.
The farm also has a picnic area where visitors can relax and enjoy the beauty of nature while savoring a picnic lunch. These events are perfect for those looking to relax and unwind amidst nature's beauty.
A friendly reminder though, this is still a farm, so wear appropriate shoes you don’t mind getting mud on and try not to wear a white maxi dress. Poor judgement on my part 😜

Read moreIt’s May 8, 2025, 2 days before Mother’s Day. Bloom field makes you think you are in Holland. It rained a bit this past week so the treks are a little soft/ muddy but not bad that you can’t walk through with regular shoes. Lots of family with young kids (awesome that kids are not stepping on flower beds), couples, elderly, teenagers, a few strollers… I can see why they do not allow pets - they might ruin the delicate beds. It’s an incredible experience, a sensory explosion seeing these beautiful flowers 💐 in person. I walked and walked and kept repeating to myself “wow, so pretty…” The online tickets show all time slots available so we thought we would be the only group there - no! When we arrived, there were tons of people there! Teams of parking attendants guiding you, and happy faces to check you in. There are baskets for you to use for browsing the field and a free wrapping station. Bring your own bucket and fill it with water (available onsite) so you can put your flowers in water on your drive home. Otherwise, they might not survive the heat on a long drive! We went weekday and it’s $10/ tax per adult and $5+ tax for 5-17 year olds. 0.50 per stem. Unlimited free...
Read moreBreathtaking. They're not too strict on entry time slots. I was at least 30 minutes late and had no problems getting in. Beautiful walk to the tulips from the parking lot. Porta potties on site. Scan your ticket, get a token to "pay" for your 10 allotted stems, grab an optional orange bucket and pick your flowers. It's nice that you're able to stay as long as you like. Once you're done, just head to the other tent to cash out, where employees remove any pulled up bulbs attached to your stems, wrap your tulips and you can pay with the token as well as for any extra flowers you picked. They do accept card. They also suggest putting them in ice cold water after picking for the ride home, but my water was pretty warm and they were fine for the hour ride home. They said change the water every day after and if they start to wilt before the week is up, put them in some ice cold water again. Experience of a lifetime. Thank you for bringing a little piece of Norway to...
