This is a Wyndham hotel, and I'm used to the higher standards of the LaQuinta in South Jordan and American Fork so I had to really step back to give it an unbiased rating. I stayed here after looking at other options locally and opted for this place as a Wyndham Rewards Member...I'm always up for something new and this was no exception. I was grateful to be able to check in early (status from being a rewards member so check out the benefits yourself). However, I wonder how the stay might have improved if I hadn't checked in until after 15:00 - the first impression after entering to go to my assigned room was something you can't convey with pictures. There was a very strong smell similar to the fecal smell of neglectful elder care facilities and it never quite went away. Ok. It just didn't, and there was no "quite" about it. In fairness, it is the first of two nights, and tomorrow may change that. And it may have been a guest that had poor habits, or a number of other temporary factors. It was never addressed though...and there were no air fresheners or units that could have improved that part of the stay here (there WAS at the front desk which leaves me wondering if they ARE aware, and it's something difficult to address??). The front desk reception was very efficient and even friendly, appropriately...not the overly energetic fake feeling you get with some smiling faces. I try to remember names but today has been fraught with challenges and she remains nameless but not faceless. She is genuinely kind. She asked if I wanted the room right away...which was a resounding YES after being in the cold for four hours. Moving past the smell, and coming up to my room, several rooms were open and midstream being cleaned...I'm not sure they have a very large cleaning crew because the progress over the couple of hours didn't seem to advance much. As the hotel occupancy increased with new guests, I learned the walls are very thin and the sound goes right through.I could hear each room, below and enough noise that it sounded as if the room underneath was also occupied...though again, in fairness...I question if I was perhaps annoyed at the excess companions with the noises bleeding into my room. This is a non-smoking room. If you stay, try asking for a noise canceling room š I felt compelled to knock on their doors and answer their questions or get more information on how they really felt about the shows they were watching. I was very satisfied with my restraint for letting them carry on as they were. It truly was entertaining but I did finally put my headphones on for some of my own sanity. Please know, this is largely addressing the experience in humor, with a creative twist. As I described it to my adult children when I spoke with them, we were laughing about antiquities (a small radio alarm clock that was off, but occasionally crackled with sounds almost like old dial up internet; two telephone directories that covered two entire counties and wasn't much larger than a Reader's Digest. Some of the pictures I'm attaching are left for you to determine, with creative freedom, what the thought process was for the design layout...a mirror more than double the size of the TV, the overly large landscape hanging over the headboard...the baseless lamp hanging directly in front of the window...we had QUITE A FEW giggles as I chatted with my kids through the day). Browse the pictures. Come stay and judge for yourself. Then write your own story and fiend your own adventure! The stay comes with several bonuses in the package:

Ā Ā Ā Read moreTHIS WAS BY FAR THE BEST HOTEL EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD! From price to location to cleanliness and most importantly the customer service!! I checked in about 9:45pm on 10/14/20, apparently just before shift change. Whoever the young dark-haired girl attending the front desk (didnt catch her name because I forgot to ask) who helped me, was very friendly and informative and just plain good at her job! She helped me with the toothbrush/toothpaste i had forgotten, and was very pleasant! Which some people are not by the end of their shift. So kudos for sure to the evening desk attendant!
While she was very good at her job, I was completely blown away by your graveyard desk attendant Tabitha! (Tabatha?) I am also a graveyard person, so I came down for a swim at about 430 or 5am, before anyone else seemed awake. I honestly tried my best to sneak into the pool unnoticed, as im inherently shy and dont prefer to be noticed. But, your amazingly professional and attentive desk agent Tabatha(itha) noticed me right away as she was starting to set out the supplies for breakfast. I was surprised, but pleasantly, because it showed me that she is genuinely an attentive worker! I honestly expected that even if i had been noticed, which i didnt expect at all at that hour, that I'd get a mere glance at best. She exceeded expectations over and over! She noticed me right away, and waved at me with a sweet smile, and i waved back with the same. It made me feel valued as a guest, honestly. Especially since i was trying to be unseen because im insecure! Then, when I had finished with my morning swim and gone to my room to shower, (which by the way was immaculate and cleaner than most any ive been in! The note on the desk said "Brianna" was the one who cleaned it, and she did an amazing job! Kudos to her as well! As well as being a shy introvert, im also a bit of a germophobe and notice and seek out any "gross" things in a hotel room when i stay in one; and was very comforted to find it literally immaculate! (And to those who left reviews complaining about the building/rooms looking "old or tired", youre just being nit picky. If an OCD germaphobe finds the rooms to be immaculate, i think the hotel has done a hell of a job, even if it's an old building.) When i came down for breakfast about 630AM, as soon as i neared the desk Tabitha(atha, whichever!) INSTANTLY perked up and greeted me with the most cordial and affable "Good morning!' and genuinely sweetest and most welcoming smile ive ever received by anyone in customer service, let alone from an over night front desk hotel attendant! I usually feel awkward and uncomfortable whenever im noticed and greeted, but her sincere kindness and pleasant manner made me feel very comfortable, the same as when she noticed and waved at me in the pool. Then, while i was getting breakfast (that i didnt even know was included! Same with the 24-hour pool! I didnt pay enough attention to my booking to even notice those ammenities, and was oh-so-pleased to get those wonderful surprises!) I couldn't help but notice how clean everything was, how pristine and organized and professional looking everything was set out. I was more than impressed! I went up to the desk and told her that she had done an amazing job in all of it, and that she made me feel good by being such a sweetheart. I went upstairs with a smile that ive never had from a hotel agent before! And all that on top of the amazing deal i got on the room, the surprise amenities, and immaculate lodging! This hotel experience was by far the best ive ever experienced, and Tabitha(atha) made it exceptional! She deserves to be recognized for being an outstanding employee, and i hope she gets it! You have an amazing staff, from the housekeeper to evening staff to the customer service queen of the night, Tabitha(atha)! Well done, 5*'s, an A++, and a very pleased review from a very impressed guest. I will certainly recomend this hotel and will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCheck in was great, wonderful lady very nice and helpful. However around 11 pm someone tried getting into our room(me & my 13 year old) and he was very scary sounding like he meant to do harm. Called the front desk after repeatedly telling man thru the door to leave or I'd call 911. There was a young girl working the over night shift alone and she blew it off, saying she'd look around. 15 min later my son called the front desk again and he was given a made up version of things, was told it was a 90 year old man who was just probably confused that he was in the room next to ours. I don't buy it at all. There is no type of security at all. Was told the camera doesn't see the hall where our room was. Plus anyone can come in or out without a key needed thru the back entrance where we were located . The parking area is scary too. Dark and isolated. The room was clean, but old. The shower had zero water pressure, and the toilet was so low to the ground it was difficult to use and I'm short! Tiny bathroom, could not get dressed in it after a shower so had to make my son leave the room so I could dress. My son & I didn't get really any sleep with the disturbance at night. Were driving across from Oregon to New Mexico and really needed peace and rest but it didn't happen. This place is so over priced even without all the negatives I mention but like I said, I needed to rest. Sleep. But, nope. Just a bad stay all together. Not saying I wouldn't recommend it, but if you are a single mom, traveling with pets and child you might not want to stay here. It's not a restful place. If you are a bigger person and fear...
