Beautiful scenery! The kids and I had a great swim! Making reservations is a must because you are more well-informed as the owners text you the rules and information about the lagoon and surrounding areas. Also, there is parking for people with reservations and those without. With it being our first time, we really didn't know what to expect. We booked it to have our daughter's 7th birthday here. For any other first timers, it is definitely like a beach outing. You must bring supplies for yourself for your party, especially if you have a party of 20 and over to bbq and reserve that section. We had a smaller party and were absolutely confused on what we were allowed to do. Getting there early does guarantee maybe a nice area to set up your party. The people at the food truck were nice enough to give us some extra paper plates, napkins, and utensils. The Argentinian bbq was delicious and worth the money. The kids had choices with chicken nuggets and hot dogs with fries. As much as we did love the scenery and the kids swimming, it's definitely not a place for small kids. I have 2 sets of bigger kids and 2 sets of smaller kids. The bigger kids enjoyed it and had a great time while the little ones did not want to be there. There were a lot of adults drinking and getting rowdy. They threw their solo cups in the lagoon and even plastic garbage. It was really sad to see this beautiful place treated like this. I seen a couple of people with glass bottles so guess rules for some and not for others. I do not recommend small children for this place. We would love to come back but maybe when our smaller kids are older. Highly recommend good water shoes because the rocks are slippery. My daughter slipped and scratched up her leg. There are many warning signs, so we know the risks. I would say I definitely felt like I was at someone's family party ...that's the type of atmosphere it is and definitely need to brush up on my Spanish because we couldn't find many workers who spoke English. They were very nice and helpful even with the language barrier. The lagoon's water is very cold, but they do have a shower with warm to hot water to clean off after your swim. Overall, this was a great experience. I only gave 4 stars because although we had reservations, we were directed to park by the dumpster, and it smelled really bad. The used cups and plastic garbage in the lagoon were also a bother while we swam so definitely hope the workers and owners stress the use of the garbage bins throughout the place because people getting drunk and being obnoxious to such a beautiful natural place is definitely not...
Read moreI forgot to write a review here, but every time I remember that we threw away 100 bucks in less than 5 minutes, basically to get in and realize that it wasn't that for us, it really pisses me off. We got to the place and they told us outside that it was non-refundable. I had never been to the place so I don't know what it was like, we should have gone in and checked before, but I think to pass that fence you have to pay 25 even if you go just to see what it is to make a decision. We went in and took a risk since the viewing option was not available. We were immediately charged at the gate before going to the parking lot. We were told that it was full capacity and that there were no tables, my girlfriend asked several times if she could put a towel on the sand and there was never an answer, because there is neither sand nor beach in there. Once inside, it was indeed crowded. Regueton and “Cosonga” playing loudly. I thought it was a quiet and pleasant place in the countryside, but no, I found the farandula of the Neme gastrobar, basically. The pool was a puddle of murky and dirty water with a bunch of people drinking their respective beers. Ok, let me have one at least, but NO, they don't sell beer, you have to bring it from home. I didn't know that either. That would have helped a little to make the situation a little less unpleasant. Anyway, we got out there right away, because it wasn't my environment, I wasn't ready to jump in that puddle and I didn't want to be listening to that super loud Reguetonto, breaking my eardrums. (What a stupid habit of people to invade the sound space of others with that rubbish music) On top of that, I have to pay 25 per head to get into a pool of dirty water, without tables or anything. I saw people's reviews and they said that they had their own music, a beautiful lake and that it was quiet, etc. Maybe it is not a place to go on the weekend and during the week it is much better and quieter. I don't know. I wouldn't go back to find out for sure. Honestly I wouldn't be frying you with this bad review if you had given me my money back, because we literally went in to watch and we did not stay for more than 5 minutes. I'm fine with everyone spending their free time as they want, listening to whatever music they want to listen to and swimming whatever king of water if they want to, but give me the chance to watch and make a decision if I want to be there or not. We were not even 5 minutes in the place and we leave you 100 dollars. Do...
Read moreWay down in Homestead, FL., you’ll find this really cool place called Blue Lagoon Farm (BLF). It’s a five acre tropical escape with a beautiful green lagoon (supposedly spring fed) that was created out of coral rock. Water trickles down the coral rock walls which are covered in natural foliage and the surrounding area offers you different views of this truly scenic gem that the whole family can enjoy. Plenty of shade is provide by the abundance of trees. There are many seating areas ranging in size available around the lagoon. Some of the larger areas have bbq grills. We went to the BLF on a Sunday for a party and it was really nice but hot. The host rented the large tiki hut in the front which was really nice. Another nice feature is that your able to bring your own food & beverages but not glass only cans. It suggested that you rent an area prior to coming to ensure you have a place sit. The kids had a blast swing and floating around the lagoon but the best part was jumping off of various designated jumping areas into the lagoon. Note - there are NO lifeguards which I’m okay with but would suggest keeping an eye on your kids. As you can imagine, if too many kids are jumping off the little cliffs there is bound to be an injury. Also it can become very slippery so bring some good water shoes. The bathrooms were very clean and the staff was very nice & helpful. Apparently there is a small farm on the property not sure if you’re allowed to go see /pet the animals but if the wind blows right the pleasant odor reminds you of their presence. I wanted to ask the owner if the water was checked or treated on a regular basis but it slipped my mind. When I see all those people in that large toilet bowl I can’t help but to think man I hope they check the water. BLF was a great experience and we all had a good time. I think next time if we go I’ll try to go during the week hoping to miss the weekend...
