Brush Creek Preserve — Attraction in Princeton

I have lived in the area for many years and have only visited here twice. There is a quarter mile hike to the actual falls, but it is relatively easy passage. They has added lookout points and signage to the trail. It is absolutely beautiful. You can make your way down and end up on the bed of the creek. Be very careful as it can be precarious to navigate due to the instability of the river stones that make up the "beach". There is a bit of broken glass too, so dogs or people should wear shoes at all times. There is a sign indicating no swimming, so I'm not sure if it's still allowed or not, but I went in anyway. I was upset that people who were there previously were so disrespectful at a wonder of nature. Looking around there was litter and clothing strewn about. Even a dirty diaper or two. It is a state park and I cannot fault any park employee for the mess. It is our responsibility to keep places like this clean and someone had neglected that task. I just don't get how someone can be so disgusting and blatantly disrespectful to a place that his been around for so long and is so beautiful. The sound of the water cascading off the rocks would lull an infant to sleep. The surrounding forest is such a brilliant shade of green and the smell of the forest permeates your nose. It is so disappointing to be in such a place and other people ruining it with their litter and trash. The falls are approximately 25' high and you used to be able to cliff jump, but I'm not sure about now. There is also an alcove behind the falls and of course people trashed it too. It broke my heart to see. If you go please be sure to take everything you carry in out with you when you exit. Broken glass, dirty diapers, clothing just strewn about. The lack of appreciation for such places make me wonder about what these people's houses look like. No home training whatsoever. Despite this fact is a truly incredible place right here in the heart of Four Seasons Country. Be sure to wear hiking boots or appropriate footwear as some of the trails can be a little tough to navigate. Enjoy the scenery on the way in. Make sure to check the weather as some of the trails may be prone to being overcome should a storm roll through, but other than that you should be good to go. Please think about other people when visiting. Take your garbage with you. With how the world is now places like this are becoming polluted because people are lazy and expect everyone else to clean up after them. It is all of our responsibility to protect these natural treasures for our kids and their kids and their kids. It is truly amazing and a great place to be grounded. Take a few pictures then set your phone down and enjoy the beauty. This is a definite must see if you are travelling the area. I highly recommend it to anyone. Even if you aren't a seasoned hiker it is relatively easy to make your way to the falls. Words cannot help to adequately describe the beauty of this place. If you are travelling to the falls be sure to take it slowly on the road heading there, it does get quite narrow and some people tend to speed and there are spots where there is little forgiveness. It may seem like a far drive, but I have seen many natural attractions in this country and this by far one of my favorites. If you're feeling stressed or tense go and disconnect and ground yourself. There is signage that says no swimming and the water is pretty cold, but if you get in the water there is no lifeguard on duty and as I said before there could be broken glass, so watch your feet. This is a great place to have a campfire and roast marshmallows with your kids. This place is a place that your kids will remember their entire lives. You must see it...

Stumbled across this park. Talk about beautiful! The locals that were there gave us great information about which paths to take and what to expect. The path is rock covered. Easy to navigate but be careful so you don't trip or stumble. Some are slippery so make sure you have good grip shoes or just be extra careful. You can get down to the falls. It's a little tricky but if you take your time and watch your step you can do it. I saw every age group go down to the falls and make it back up. This is worth the .25 mile walk. We were told there were more falls farther down the path but we were fine with the first falls. Beautiful, quiet, and pure nature. Was clean and worth every moment...

The road getting here is absolutely horrifying from the north. Mostly one lane with Cliffs on one side and twisty-turny. Many total blind spots as you go around a turn. Took more southern route home, much better. Small parking lot with a pavilion. Path follows the water, its a rocky and dirt path. Very beautiful scenery.
