Hematite Lake is a beautiful and peaceful spot, perfect for a relaxing day outdoors. It’s easy to get to, and the walking trail around the lake is scenic and very doable, even if you’re not an experienced hiker. Great for a casual stroll with lots of nature to enjoy.

The picnic area is super convenient—you can pull right up, unpack, and enjoy a meal by the lake. There are grill pits available too, which is great if you want to cook out. When I visited, it wasn’t crowded at all, making it even more enjoyable.

If you're in Western Kentucky and looking for a quiet place to walk, grill, or just soak up some fresh air, Hematite Lake is definitely...

We love the trail up at hematite lake. It's so peaceful and just beautiful. We enjoy seeing all the squirrels playing beside the trail and I love the view of the lake. There was a small buck this time when we went on Father's Day. Always enjoy it. Beautiful Hike- between 2-2.5 miles- I would call the Hematite Lake trail easy to easy+. The trail is mostly flat however there are a couple of short steep inclines with roots that could cause tripping. The board walk is beautiful and made the hike a little extra fun.

Taking the trail clockwise you will cross some steppingstones - if the lake is full water will be on all sides of the stones! Don’t let that deter you- it only makes the trek more fun! Just...
