I'm really sad to be giving this place a one star review. My family and I were so excited to go, and hoping it would be a fun end of summer activity. Here are the reasons for one star...
The zip lines have no slow down device at the end, so 100% of the impact of stopping is on the human body.
The guidelines given by the staff for stopping are to run if you're facing forward or drag your heels to slow down if you're facing backward. I began running as instructed, but with the momentum from the zip line, my body immediately flipped around and my head and neck were thrown forward and backward. I felt a cracking in my neck, and immediately felt whiplash symptoms.
I got off the zip line where there were two staff, and I let them know that I was hurt and I wish there was a slow down device. They said "yeah, this is the fastest zip line we have". Then, they didn't say anything further- no offer to help in any way! My young daughter was coming down after me, so I asked if they could help her decelerate so that she doesn't get hurt too, and they completely ignored me.
I had to stop the course obviously. I went back to the main building, and explained the problem. Nora was apologetic and said she'd talk to the staff and manager, she gave me an ice pack and some free drinks. No offer for a refund for my ticket or any further medical evaluation. She said they've hired a bunch of new staff lately. She didn't take my name, number, or say she'd be in touch, so I just left with my family. My neck is very sore today.
The course feels unsafe since it doesn't have a slow down mechanism (very common at the other zip lines we've visited all around the world), and they need to train their staff in communication and responding to hurt guests. I am in a lot of pain today with whiplash symptoms and a sore neck. It's hard to understand why things were handled this way, since I would think for liability they would at least want to evaluate the injury.
I hope someone doesn't get hurt even worse than I did with the zip-lines as they are. Needless to say, we won't be returning unless changes are made to the course. I hope this helps other guests when making your decision to visit this...
Read moreCame out today with my 4 year old and 6 (almost 7) year old. We did the treetop journey and the nets. The treetop course was fun. It was challenging for my 4 year old, but he was definitely able to do it and had fun. My 6 year old had no problem doing the obstacles and sped through them while I was with the little one. Both loved the Zipline at the end. Unfortunately, since my little one was a bit slower on a few of the obstacles (swinging ones) we ran out of time four our hours and were unable to do the 3rd section. The kids were bummed but we moved on to the nets. The nets were ok. I think I expected a little more, but the kids had fun. They enjoyed the giant ball inside, so I'd definitely encourage more of those. There's was only 1 other family at the time so they had their run of the place. Only downside for me as a parent was having to remain by my 4 year olds side. He's very physical and capable and an Energizer bunny keeping up with the big kids, so it was annoying to have to make him wait for me to climb next to him, and go down the slides with him each time. I understanding being on the net to supervise, but didn't like having to go down the slide every time he did, only to have to climb right back up to repeat. I think the rule would be better for 3 and under, rather than 5 and under. We didn't to the big ropes and Zipline course so we can't review that. We watched axe throwing and it looked fun. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, and patient with the little ones. Overall was a...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible, when my older son became entangled in one of the treetop rope obstacles all the staff would do for 20 minutes was give him advice on how to free himself. This was as he was suspended 30 feet in the air. While entangled he managed to get himself to the treetop platform with the entangled must still wrapped around his body. Finally they sent it an instructor up to help him. The instructor directed him to go back out off of the platform so he could try to untangle in while suspended in the air. After trying this for 10 minutes the instructor decided it was too Tangled to undo. So he called for another instructor to come up with the tool to release his trolley from the cable. At this point my son was having a major panic attack. When the next instructor came up with the tool they insisted that my son leave the platform again so that this instructor could try to untangle him while he was suspended in the air. My son begged not to have to go back out and I refuse to let the instructor sent him back out and insisted that they use the tool instead to unlock his trolley and set him free. The instructor refuse which and resulted in an arguing match between them and I, till finally the instructor used their tool to free my son which took every bit of two minutes. Because of my argumentative nature with the instructor they called the police on me and had me removed from the site and which I received two citations for disorderly conduct. Other than that it was a great time lol...
