Produce stand — Attraction in Prunedale

Great food stand. Don't listen to the complaints from other reviewers whining about the signs that say they sell 7 avocados for $1.. Sure the sign is very outdated. But these people are farmers, they have better things to do. There's ONE woman working in that store when we visited, and there were a lot of people buying a lot of fruits and vegetables from here. So yes the avocados were 4 for 5 dollars from the basket we took them from but these same avocados at the supermarkets around cost $3 each, including at those yuppies farmers market (like the worst one at Santa Cruz west side), and the avocados tasted great. So we bought enough for one week of cooking here and we paid less than $40, you can not find that anywhere else here. This is great to have a food stand like this that actually sells at affordable prices. The negative commenters are the yuppies and the silicon valley elite that stopped on their drive to Carmel for some $50 brunch, don't fall for their comment. Sure the signs are false advertising, but these people were driving expensive cars from companies that live on false advertising, were they complaining then? So this place will provide you with all the season vegetables and fruits at very affordable prices. Don't pass up if affordability is important to you. The one thing that you won't find too much of is organic produce, and that's unfortunate, so let me know if you know of an affordable farm stand with more organic produce. And stay away from the...

Overcharge products and add to the receipt more products. Dishonest place. My first time there I was charge for a house tomate close to $6. I brought the same tomate to check the price and it was $1.25 . I showed cashier my receipt and the cashier told me that she could no be sure if I bought more than one because it has been a week. I told her that I am not from the area. I told her just to let you know what happen. This day I bough 6 products and the receipt show 7. Before I left the parking lot I went there and showed her the plastic bags with the products and the receipt. She told me that the bag with 2 avocados count as a two items. Which is not true. Bad Customer Service!! Cashier accused us of trying to steal strawberries! We got one small prefilled basket and emptied it into a plastic clear bag.
