Please be aware that even though summer temperatures may reach 100 degrees the water is frigid. Prolonged time in cold water is dangerous regardless of how warm it is outside. Also the rocks in this area and throughout the river pose risk of injury even if you are on a river tube. I recommend getting out of the river at this point if you are tubing down. My husband now has a back injury from hitting a rock. The water gets choppy where are rocks present and you'll want to lift your bottom to avoid getting smacked by a rock. As word gets out parking is going to become a huge problem so I suggest that the city begins planning for it now. I actually rode my paddleboard down from the Cottonwood Parking lot near the Pueblo Reservoir Dam to Waterworks Park.
