"I and my dog love this park. Truly an oasis." I've come back to edit this after several years of going here. I am sad to say that lots of large dogs and their owners come into this park not caring If it threatens the small dogs. Softballs have come flying into this park many times and almost hit my dog in the head as well as myself. The city doesn't seem to care that your life is at risk going there in the summer. People smoke cigarettes all the time and just leave the butts all over the small dog park. It's up to the people like me to clean up after them if they don't want their dog to eat a cigarette butt. It's really gone downhill and that's just so sad. If the park rangers really police the area and got the big dogs out that shouldn't be in there and told people who were smoking they shouldn't even be smoking in their let alone throwing their butts on the ground, it would be a much better park. Plus vicious dogs are often fighting over at the other park and that's harsh to watch. I've had friends whose dogs have gotten hurt over in the large dog park. I still take my dog because he loves it so much but half the time I end up just driving by and not going, we're going and cleaning up someone else's dog poop or...

This is a great park because there is a little something for everyone. There's a Zoo, there are toddler and kid rides right across from the Zoo, there's a swimming pool and kiddy pool with a couple of water slides on the other side of the Zoo....There's disk golf, a duck pond where kids can fish, a skate park, tennis courts, pic-nic tables and covered pic-nic tabke areas for parties right next to an impressive playground.... and if you're the adventurous type, like me, you can wander down to the Arkansas river where you will see fisherman fishing the waterfall, a neat bridge going over the river and miles of paved/ and unpaved walking trails- all set against a beautifully kept natural backdrop! I've lived here for 20 years and continue to love this place....and find new things...

One of the best parts of Pueblo, City Park has a lot going on. The Parks & Rec department does an awesome job of running events in the summer, there is always family activities available. From the zoo to the kiddie rides and the dog park to the frisbee golf, there’s something for everyone. There’s also access to trails down by the river for runners or dog owners. With the new waterpark they built down there, you can tube/raft down there just wear a life jacket and be careful! Back in the main part of the park, there are several softball fields, tennis courts, a public pool, and a skate park. If you’re wondering what to do on a nice day, spend some time...

This is a very nice place especially when its Pueblo hot outside, perfect to cool off and enjoy tubing down the river, taking a cool sandwich for lunch, snacks, cold watermelon and ice cold drinks. You can also take a grill and throw down on a carne asada of you want. Make sure to wear a life jacket and be aware of rocks under the rushing part of the current beneath your tube. I look forward to getting in another trip or 2 before summer ends. Great for the entire family, enjoy and be safe!
