When we went on June 20th, there was unfortunately huge piles of seaweed covering the entire beach. It smelled bad and made it practically impossible to even get in the water. We only stayed about 2 minutes. However, i can definitely say the view was stunning, the water was beautiful, and the little bits of sand I could see sticking out from under the seaweed looked bright white. It is a long drive down a narrow gravel road, not something I would feel too comfortable driving a rental golf cart in fyi because it will track up dust. Once at the beach, there are little secluded spots to park in that allow for some privacy from other beach goers (however, there was no one else there when we went). Read moreBeautiful secluded beach. Calm turquoise waters. The clarity of the water was amazing even at a depth of 4 feet. The waves are gentle and currents mild. Playa Plata is on the south side and prone to sea weed washing up on the shore this time of the year but relatively less when compared to some of the other beaches. Once you leave the paved road it’s off roading up to the beach. We drove slowly and cautiously in our Kia Sol and made it to and back fine. We went to the very end of the road, and then found an empty spot to park on the way back. There's a short path from the parking spot to the beach. There's very little shade and no amenities so take an umbrella and an ice chest....
