As one of the reviews mentioned, this was such a missed opportunity. First, The Museum had such great things in it but there is no literature or label of what the items were for or even what year those machines were from and how they were used. I was particularly curious about the safe that we found there. There were a lot of well preserved documents/books but we had no idea what they were/for. Also, the "gift shop" does not have that personal touch that tourists like me appreciate when you are visiting. Like someone to explain what the things for sale are - right now, it is too impersonal as they just have a cashier behind a plexi glass. Lastly, we hope they put a bigger sign/tarp because we had to go around twice to see it as it was originally blocked by a smallish truck-car. I hope that they improve this place so that they could really attract tourist and in turn, help their town/city as well. This place has lot of potential and I hope the owner/town/city realize it and do...

Learned about this place from a restaurant we visited. Not sure what to make of this place. On one hand, I want to support all these places. I think the place has a lot of potential to be a great spot that will improve tourism in the place. The exhibits were interesting but kind of boring. There was no guide to talk about the artifacts. The store where one can buy coffee, was not well attended and no one was even trying to sell us the amazing coffee that is produce there. That is a missed opportunity. The coffee that we bought from the coffee shop nearby was great. Like a said, tons of potential with the place and I hope it can be...

Coffee Museum of Puerto Rico serves the best coffee on the Island. Ciales is a coffee town nestled in the central mountains of Puerto Rico. The Museum serves (and sells) Café Don Pello. The coffee is made by a local family, the Maldonado family, which has been producing great coffee for generations. As a young child I remember how the entire town was perfumed every day with the rich smell of toasted coffee. Today, Pedro “Pichi” Maldonado continues the tradition and the enticing wafts of freshly toasted Island coffee. Pichi is wearing a white shirt in the pic below. The pic is taken in the entrance to the Museum.

Don Pello is by far my favorite coffee and you can buy it there. The museum has a lot of vintage coffee tools, paperwork like letters and a log of the coffee sales from the nineteen thirties. There is a kiosk with beautiful bonsai trees among other type of plants, which they sell. Then they have a coffee bar and they also offer food. I was really happy that I found a plant based sandwich. The people are really nice and helpful. The only thing that was difficult was finding a parking. I recommend this place and the views are breathtaking. Also I recommend stopping by Paseo Lineal Juan Antonio Corretjer.
