Rancho El Desahogo — Restaurant in Puerto Rico

We arrived at 4:00pm it was fairly busy for Father’s Day. We were sat fairly quickly but after 30-45 minutes we had not received silverware or menus. When we asked the waitress stated “oh it’s there on the table” under an NON LABELED QR. We ordered the food by 4:50pm and TWO HOURS LATER we received our food. Not to forget we ordered appetizers and they arrived only what 20 minutes before the food? Though it was full when we arrived it was quickly emptying and we were yet to receive any food. Oh and tables that arrived later than us received their food FIRST. Later to find out they were friends of the workers. Imagine waiting on your food for hours and see your waitress laughing w the table behind you and handing them food before you? No apology, no discount, nothing! The waitress came and said “oh I fought in the kitchen…” Still no sorry when we said o we should just leave they said “oh it’s whatever you want”. As you can see empty in photos. It was this empty after about an hour of us waiting. Had to ask 5 times for utensils and about 3 for the drinks. Waitress, cook and overall experience was a ZERO. I NEVER leave bad reviews, so being prompted to make this is absolutely insane. And even though I ordered a simple pasta everyone’s food came out before mine, and we could see none of the waiters wanting to even come hand us the food for some reason. Though visibly upset in our faces we were not disrespectful, but we surely stood our ground and expressed to them our disappointment. We had a few bites of our main dishes as stated before the appetizers came only 20 minutes before. The food was good, not overly amazing neither. Unfortunately the service makes the whole establishment bad. I would stay away from here, way better places to enjoy...

The service was okay. They are polite and helpful. Nestled next to a river it offers pleasing views. However, the restaurant property itself could use landscaping. Where it falls apart is the food. The mini-bacalaitos were overdone and/or reheated. Frankly they appeared to have languished under a food lamp for way too long. The mofongo had way too much garlic, the accompanying meat was dry and the "salad" was just a few unseasoned slivers of lettuce and cubed tomato without dressing. Pass this one by, it's not worth your hard...

I do not recommend. We called ahead of time to make sure they expected us (group pf 8, 3 cars). The owner explained they were full but we could wait on line, we agreed. When we arrived we understood and were patiently waiting to enter the parking lot; we were the first 3 in line to get in when suddenly two cars entered without issue.

When I asked the owner, he said with attitude they were family and the other, a friend. There were around 6 cars behind us.

We left and will never support a place like this. ...
