Camped in the section of grass meant for camping. You can tell it was really amazing in the past. We were the only ones there but we did notice other campers closer to the beach, hidden in the trees. Ants and mosquitoes are manageable if could handle a few bites. Showers work and the water is drinkable. Beware the horses are very thirsty and wait by the showers for someone to turn them on. I did this and was crowded out by all the horses. Unfortunately as much as I want to help them with their thirst, they became very aggressive with each other and began slipping on the tile. There’s another small silver shower on the side of the campsite that they didn’t notice so we began to use those showers. Restrooms open all night. There is a security guard there who welcomed us...
Read moreThis is our favorite family friendly beach on Vieques. It is long and wide with beautiful water. We were able to swim all day and have a wonderful family day. Media Luna is also beautiful and has even smaller waves, would be good for toddlers but it felt hotter without the wind on the wide open Sun Bay beach. Otherwise it is a beautiful sandy beach, 10 minutes walk from the village. Horses walk or lie on the beach, it is very unic and fantastic view.
