We enjoyed talking with the owner and enjoyed all the wines in our flights. The view from the tasting room is gorgeous. We ended up buying two bottles of Viognier and one bottle of the white table wine (which was sweet but not too sweet - just perfect… it complemented the Hershey dark kisses perfectly.) If I were in the area, I would definitely come here again. Thanks to the owner for telling us about the Mercantile down the road and the close proximity of the New River rail trail. So we may very well come here again, as we enjoy hitting various rail trails around the area!

Just minutes off the interstate is this very cute small scale winery. The wine is very good and the owners are very knowledgeable and happy to share their expertise on wine and on the area. We had a couple of flights so that we could try everything! Their snack board had a little bit of everything which was really fun to pair with the wines. We ended up taking a bottle home we liked their Norton so much. Jennifer was kind enough to give us a tour of their winery set up and it was very cool to see and learn about the process.

We popped in yesterday for a tasting and the owners were so lovely and very knowledgeable. Our friend who goes to several wineries and is a bit cautious about going to new wineries but she absolutely loved it here, especially the port! The tasting includes a souvenir wine glass which is lovely. The semi sweet red is delicious. Highly recommend you pop in and have a sip. I'm keen to see what they get up to in the future.

Every so often life gives you a bonus and that's just what we experienced when we randomly dropped in on this out-of-the-way, unassuming winery. During a stretch of our recent RV trip we searched for a few local wineries and were drawn to this curiously-named little gem. Owners Jennifer and Curtis were on-hand to walk us through both their wines and their journey in creating them. Their no-nonsense approach resulted in a large number of varieties for such a young winery, including several welcome surprises. Smooth oaked reds are complimented by several novel semi-sweet and sweet whites. There's even a carefully-crafted port on hand. It's all offered up in a clean, bright and airy tasting room with a stunning view of the surrounding area. This is clearly a labor of love for the owners and their exuberance is quite contagious. We'll be sure to stop back on our next swing...

We love this place for all that it is, and for what it is not.

I am a big fan of European and southern South American wines and also of the west coast USA.

Spinning Jenny is not pretentious in its winery structure, staff, or wines.

The wines do not compete against the luscious Bordeauxs nor the big, sometimes complicated California Cabs. There are no 'airs' , only air.

These are good wines, in their own right. Despite their familiar Varietal names, they more resemble the local wines of the people in small towns of Italy and Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. They are utterly appropriate to the terroir and the pace of life still common to the rolling hills and terrain of the New River Valley.

The view off the back deck is pastoral. Life is slow and the wine celebrates the simplicity of the life where its living is a...

Walked in to be greeted by a lovely young man, had high hopes about the wine. Shortly after being there one of the owners was very rude about a piece of paper the young man had told me to take, he snatched it out of my hand and rudely handed me another paper walking away without speaking any more to me. I tried to gain my composure and order but the wife of the man came to take my order and proceeded to tell me that “that was her husband that treated me that way, and he was just having a reaction to people touching that paper” adding “just like you are having a reaction now”. Needless to say I left and won’t be back and encourage you to leave this off your list of wineries. There are too many amazing wineries in the area to...
