The facility is very nice with clean bath/showerrooms. They also have a couple of nice pavilions that my group used for a picnic dinner. Middle Bass Island is quite relaxed compared to South Bass Island. Dock sizes were quite generous and new looking. No fuel dock and the office was closed from Sunday 3 PM to Wednesday, but somehow the restrooms were clean. While you are there, you have to check out the Lonz Winery ruins and have dinner at the General Store. Along the way, check out the "downtown" area. Just don't blink.😉

Had a great time visiting the middle Bass Island State Park store. They were very friendly had a lot of merchandise available. This would help make your stay an awesome one just in case you forgot something, everything from cooking items to souvenirs T-shirts, and a number of different maps and a lot of information pamphlets

Like all of Northern Ohio, lots of cool birds can be seen here. Everything is closed in late April, including the restrooms, which is completely nuts because they have campers here then. The marina walkway is really pretty. The other trails are nice but short.

If you want to kick back in beautiful island surroundings, Middle Bass Island may be a great place to visit.

They have wonderful facilities. If you are a boater, visiting by boat is an amazing experience. The marina is a first rate facility.

Though Lonz Winery is now only a museum, the architecture is pretty amazing to find in a state park and they have winery facility tours on Thursday and Saturday [check the seasonal schedule].

If you enjoy primitive tent camping, the sites are beautifully secluded and well maintained. Might pick a site not too close to the house that looks like a feature of the Stranger Things Netflix series.

You can get there via the Miller Ferry if you aren't a boater. There is also transportation to popular Put in Bay [just across the bay], if you are looking for a little nightlife.

There are also some local restaurants/bars.

Island Grind, located in the Press House at Lonz Winery, offers great early morning coffee. The also have sandwiches, dessert, a full service bar and Trivia the night we were there. Service was fun and friendly

Middle Bass Island General Store truly has everything from groceries to hardware and apparel. The attached, Uncle Joe’s Pizza has an awesome oven that cranks out some great food.

JF Walleye's was closed, but looked interesting and also offered golf cart rentals.

St. Hazards has various activities such as cabin rentals, a pool, bar, putt putt, apparel and golf...

We come every year and have always loved it. This year we are here for 2 days and when we arrived yesterday they apologized for the pigeon droppings on the dock and said that the equipment was broke and they would do it Thursday. Well today they didn’t do it and when i questioned them about it they said they were 5 minutes over on time and had to go. Looks like they did A&B docks again ( was done yesterday) and they did a small portion of ours ( C dock ). Unfortunately for us it wasn’t near our boat. There are 2 boats on C dock next to each other. You would think they could of cleaned our area. We love to put our lawn chairs on the dock and sit but unfortunately it is so disgusting i don’t even want to walk on it. It is a health hazard and i am glad there are no children with...

Years ago my husband and I we're looking for a place to get away, stumbled upon Middle Bass Island campgrounds. Packed up and went for the weekend and explored the island. Love at first sight. One of the cool things is you have to take a ferry from mainland to the island. It's about a 40 minutes ferry ride. Once you arrive at the island you are in front of the old winery which is now open for visitors. It is a very cool place. There's a general store several restaurants and many sites to take in. There's campgrounds, a boat marina and little cottages to rent. If you're looking for a place to get away and haven't been, you should go. We've been going for the last 4 years and still...
