I was here at the beginning of December, after Black Friday shopping for cold gear... I was ready to test out my new pants, and make sure I could stay warm. The PCT connects with the trail at Vasquez Rocks and I was excited to be on the historic trail. Although just a short section of PCT, it was cool to explore some of the rock formations and test my bravery going through looooong a tunnel under the freeway. Exciting stuff, but hardly counts as "hiking the PCT," but someday!

This is for the section in and around Vasquez Rocks. Beautiful part of the trail. Geology trail. I formation boards. Endless interesting objects. I love this place and if you're on PCT or just looking for an easy walk/hike, check this place out.

This trail is awesome! Beautiful scenery. Go early morning to avoid the heat and beware the bees in mile 2. Getting to the bench is about 6 miles.

Going south from this point leads you on an easy to moderate trail through the hills. It is well-maintained but without markers. Near the trailhead there might be some bottled water under a bush. Some parts are narrow with a steep drop, but reinforced with piles and rails. After a few miles there's a part that's...
