I was here on March/28/2021. This park is not far off the freeway to Antelope Valley, and close to Palmdale. Parking is free, there are two locations for parking, it has porta-potties also. The park is popular for hiking & picnicking. It has an equestrian area. It has been used in many hit movies, such as Star Trek, and The Flinstones, as well as some television shows. The rocks and formations are completely out of this world. Just gorgeous. Their angles are so fun to climb and hideouts are great for hanging out. It was all uphill but it was a fairly gentle incline so I never felt it was too strenuous. What a great and unique landscape to explore. Remember this is the desert so have plenty of water, and sunblock. Don’t forget your hiking shoes and camera. You need to stop by and see it, it’s...

Beautiful place with very climbable rock formations! It’s a very popular filming location; it’s been in so many movies and series!

A short dirt road takes you to the first parking lot. And it’s a short walk from there. You can also keep driving down a small hill and park right at the base of it, but maybe don’t do this if it’s rained recently since the road will be muddy. We were there recently after a hailstorm, and it was 41 degrees! So plan for it to be a bit cooler here, if you’re coming from LA.

It’s an easy and rewarding place to hike. If you’re adventurous, you can climb up to the top of the peak, but that’s a bit much for me, haha.

No bathrooms here so go before you leave home. Bring water and a hat....

One of the true gems around/near Santa Clarita. It's technically in a small town called Agua Dulce, Sweetwater, that has a charm of its own but the Vasquez Rock preserve is the real draw. Eons old rock formations that explode towards the sky, caused by faults directly underneath and near the location. Climbable, much of it anyway, and endless hiking opportunities, either from localized trails or the Pacific Coast Trail, running right through the middle of it, that goes from Mexico to Canada. Words nor pictures can convey the beauty, the peace and grandiosity of the park and...
