A visit to El Yunque wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Yokahú Tower, one of the best vantage points in the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System. Standing at 1,575 feet above sea level, the tower offers a breathtaking 360 degree view that stretches from the lush green canopy below to the coastline in the distance.

The drive up is tight but scenic, winding through dense jungle and misty cloud layers that make you feel like you’re entering a hidden world. Once you reach the tower, a short climb up the spiral staircase rewards you with panoramic vistas of waterfalls, forested mountains, and the diverse, untouched beauty of Puerto Rico’s natural landscape.

What makes El Yunque so special is not just its beauty, but the ecosystem echos the coquí frogs and birds, and every visit feels like a chance to reconnect with nature on a...

It's no Eiffel, Freedom, or Leaning of Pisa, but this Tower is still great in its own way. There is a little parking area for a dozen cars or so and in the base of the tower there is a gift "shop" with a few items. It is free to climb the tower which is the equivalent of 4 flights of stairs or so. There are a few windows along the way so you can soak in the views as you go. The stairs are quite slippery sometimes so be aware. At the top of this tower you will find no Rapunzel, but instead will be wowed by views down to the ocean and up into the cloud-draped mountains. You can hear the local critters chirping their home's name sake, "El Yunque" and feel the warm, misty breeze on your face. For the elderly or unenthused I entreat you to make the trek anyway. If nothing else, you can get a...

So gorgeous! Amazing views of just everything up here! Great for photos , breath taking views . You can see the sleeping man and other formations in the mountains. The walk up isn't bad at all . Theres a tiny gift shop at the bottom. You can see the coastline and th ed beautiful water ome way and turn and see the mountains and forest you are in . It's where the mountains reach the clouds literally. You will want to stop here. And even as you. Ome down and out of the forest right outside of the forest entrance not too far away is a tiny gas station , places to shop places eat and even a brewery! They have some of the most beautiful hammocks and hanging chairs in...
