I don't understand any of the negative reviews, maybe because I don't know any better but my family really enjoyed our trip to this rainforest. Beautiful waterfalls, natural pools with waterfalls, great hiking trails, the Tower was AMAZING, and the food shops in a rainforest was great with hamburger and fries and other offerings. It's the only rainforest around...how can you not love it? We went in Aug 2023 and we had to get passes in advance. Now I hear it's first come, first serve. The locals know much better than I what should or should not be available, but for me, my wife and teenager, it was a wonderful awesome experience.

One of the most beautiful national park/forest we have been to. Start at the visitors centre to get information and the 15min movie gives you a feel for the overall park and then you can decide what hikes you want to do according to your abilities. Lovely visitors centre and very informative staff to help you decide and tell you what is open(some were closed due to recent heavy rainfalls). Stunning views, variety of hikes, waterfalls, flora and fauna. This is definitely the jewel of Puerto Rico.

As of Feb 2024, no reservations needed, but only 200 cars allowed in at a time via 191. Get there at 0730 to line up and wait. Unfortunately not much is open or a accessible from 191. Just the tower, coca falls, Juan Diego falls, the Baña, and a small park of the trail going to the peak. We did 3 of these things in an hour and left. Also the visitor center is actually a museum you need to pay to go to. Just stop at a rec area if you need to ask questions of staff.

we went almost 10 years after Hurricane Maria. everything was closed, as a local its embarrassing. This is a well-known treasure and National Rain Forest. To the point main trail closed, we could even go to natural water fall and river to enjoy nature like I used to do when little with family outdoor activities. Puerto Rico Tourism Company should speak out, and tourists who are charged a lot are scammed. National Park did not even have assistance for broken-down cars. Yes, my battery died and awaited 5 hours and not an even ranger, or an employee assisted us. construction of roads are being worked, and it seems whoever got the contract is milking FEMA funds or funds assigned by congress during recovery. Our native Parrott habitat exist there behind closed doors. Como on, guys, let think outside the box. creating a checkpoint as if covid is rampide is a false...
