If you just want to have a relaxing day in the park with your family, this is NOT the park to go to.
There is a lady at this park that has trolled around that particular park for years and all the time is constantly trying to find every little thing she can possibly find to knit-pick the patrons about. Anyone who has had the misfortune of their kids having activities scheduled at this park for any period of time knows exactly who this lady is and has had to bear the intimidating, tense environment that she creates. She knit-picks every little thing anyone does and bosses around the patrons. If it's not you or your kids she is picking on, it's someone else or someone else's kids, and it happens almost every visit. She always disguises it in terms of "safety" for the kids or some "rule" that has to be followed to the T or the world will come to an end. But, that is just a ruse. There is something about her that either has to be the center of attention or she gets great enjoyment from domineering over the place and the citizens. In either case, this does not align with Governor McCrory's desire to have the government treat its citizen's as customers. It's all about her, not the kids or the families. She has to be the center of attention and she has to assert her "authority" at every, EVERY possible moment on every possible thing. If you call her on it, then she just acts like she's just a poor little victim, a poor lady just trying to keep the kids safe. Well, that's bologna. It's not about the kids. It's about her. She ruins the entire place. I saw her a couple of nights ago tell an old man to stop throwing spongy rubber balls to some kids to hit with a baseball bat because the balls might hit the kids and hurt them. Apparently, she knows more about taking care of the kids than the kids' own parents do. She probably doesn't have kids herself, and if she does, God help them. They probably can't move without being told, "no." She ruins the entire park. All of the other Raleigh Parks, and Rec parks that I have visited over the years do not have this problem.
If you just want to have a relaxing day in the park with your family, avoid this park...
Read moreAVOID THIS PLACE – TOTAL SCAM! What a nightmare. First of all, the place is filthy, overcrowded, and ridiculously small for the number of people they let in. I showed up with my niece and nephew at 1:20 PM and was told it was full—we’d have to wait. Fine. They put us on a waiting list that took over 2.5 hours. After finally getting the text to come back, I paid over $40, thinking we’d finally enjoy some time in the water.
We get inside and guess what? It’s STILL packed, the water is disgusting, and most people there were loud, rude, and cussing nonstop—not exactly a family-friendly environment. Then, only 15 minutes after getting in the pool, they kicked everyone out because it started raining outside—and shut down the entire pool.
So yes, I paid over $40 for 15 miserable minutes in a dirty, overcrowded pool surrounded by chaos. Absolute rip-off....
