I lived at the Jamison for almost 4 years and left to be closer to my current job. They are upgrading all the units, so it will pretty much feel brand new.
Management: Bell Properties has recently acquired this complex the beginning of last year and has improved many aspects of the community. With the new team, new treadmills, and yoga mats have been placed in the gym, FOB keypads have been placed for the pool and basketball court for tenant access and security so that random people will not show up, and trash issue has been in control. I just want to thank Kevin, Jennifer, Jacob, and Tabitha for all their hard work and for making a great community even better. They will hear you out and try their best to make sure that every tenant is happy.
Environmental Services: Thank you, Judith, for always keeping everything in the clubhouse clean, and for always being so kind and cheerful. A company also comes in every week to mow the lawns and keep the grounds trimmed.
Maintenance: They are super fast. I’ve requested maintenance through the online portal one morning before leaving for work and when I went home for lunch, the issue had already been resolved within 3-4 hours.
Neighborhood: There’s three hotels down the road and a new gas station on the corner, which is open during snow storms and hurricanes. It has the necessities like eggs, bread, milk, water, beer, and wine. The apartment is a 10 min walk to Walgreens, 25 min walk to Earth Fare, 30 min walk to Chikfila, and a 45 min walk to Target. You can easily train for a 5K in the area. A Mellow Mushroom restaurant is opening soon that’s walking distance. Brier Creek Community Center has basketball leagues, yoga classes, and a park across the street.
Security: I’ve always felt safe. There’s sufficient lighting at night. I had a clicker to open the front gate. Local cop lives in the neighborhood.
Parking: There’s plenty of spots.
Car Wash Station: It has a free water hose and air vac machine for 75 cents. I’d recommend them to place a squeegee!
Walls: No planes/airport noise, but you can SOMETIMES hear people’s loud music, TVs, or bullfrogs by the pond if your apt faces it. The dogs in my building were quiet. I was able to sleep during the day for my night shifts. It’s quiet during the day except for the times that employees had to pressure wash in front of the doors to clean up the steps or the times that they had to mow the lawn.
Tenants: Mainly professionals and families.
Community Events: The new management has added so many activities, so you can get to know them and your neighbors. There’s food trucks, movie nights, pizza parties, Zumba and Tabatha classes, birthday parties at the end of each month, and holiday events.
Trash: There’s one trash compactor and a recycling area in the front of the complex. Valet trash is available through a company for about $20/month if you need it, which is 2x cheaper than other luxury apartments.
Storage: Storage units and garages are available for $10 to $125+ per month. We got a closet size one for $20 that was located on the first level of our building. It was very convenient.
Packages: Depending on who delivers your package, it will either arrive at your doorstep, mailbox, or delivered to the front office. USPS has a covered area next to the clubhouse with lockers. FedEx usually delivered to my door. Amazon Now has drivers who deliver directly to you, and larger Amazon packages are received at the front office. My recommendation for the future would be a 24/7 locker packaging area which sends you a text or email with a barcode or pin to open the lockers, so you would know exactly when you have a delivery.
Clubhouse: I would recommend for the clubhouse to have 24/7 access or extended hours, so people who do not have cable can watch their games on TV. Also, I am grateful for the complimentary Starbucks coffee and hot chocolate machine, the 24/7 gym, and the conference room.
Thanks, Jamison for the memories. My husband and I enjoyed...
Read moreI would like to start off by saying this review is soely intended for the property manager of Jamison at brier creek, The leasing agents, the complex itself was not an issue. I recently got promoted for work and need to relocate to NC from Florida. I was up in the area back in November & in March looking at apartment complexes. I visited jamison and it was a perfect location due to my child being able to go to the school down the road as well as proximity to work. At the time units were not available for August so I had to wait for one to become available to apply. This is where Joy (Property manager) comes in, This past week a unit became available and when I reached out to the office, joy answerd at first she was pretty basic, straight forward stated to apply online as units become unavailable quickly. So I acted fast and paid my application fee of $60. 1 day goes by and I get an email of denial. Now while I do understand a 3rd party screening company is used for getting applicants accepted. This community set there qualiifications like any community to what they would like to require. With that said I passed every check box on requirements with the exception of credit history. In my 10 plus years of renting I have never been denied rental based soely on credit history let alone been denied at all. While this may be a qualification deal breaker for this community, I am fully adverse in knowing that a screening is NOT a final decision for approval, that comes directly from the property manager. I know this because both the 3rd party screening company, along with my current property manager at my current community, which is a luxury community here in FL, also informed me the systems all can be altered and manually overrided. Joy elected to when called about the decision, not even attempt to sound sincere nor look into going an extra step and at minimum look at the report which she can do and see my rental history is superior, no criminal record, no evictions, simply on my credit report missed payments on car loan and regular loans. She was very dry in her response while knowing that I know she can if she wanted to accept the application. I then went ahead and added my significant other to the application. To add even more assurance while paying another $60, emailed Joy explaining everything and her response was as dry as it gets, Roomate deined sorry cant do anything best of luck. Point of this review is show that, even if Joy could not approve the application, which I know and she knows, with good customer service and spend an extra five minutes of her time she could have. Ultimately a negative review is drawn for her inability to simply not be a basic, dry person. I am pleased to announce, I have happily found a home in the brier creek area, that also had a screening 3rd party service. Has the SAME peramiters as Jamison, however the property manager was not dry, went the extra mile and got me approved by simply doing a manual input through the system, that ANY community can do if there willing to.
Joy I am speaking to you directly, while you do not care for myself, Just know not everyone with a few dings on a credit report present an issue as a future resident, Maybe look into the reports even if you want to claim you can't, I know you can. Go the extra mile and maybe it will reward your efforts in the...
Read moreJust had an unbelievably terrible experience with the service staff at this complex. Mai-Lani was courteous as I was asking for some type of help to remove trash on a move-out. Some apartment complexes offer assistance in the form of a wagon or some form of help.
Mai-Lani asked Victoria Vargas who is the assistant manager who said I could not use their golf cart to remove trash. I said to her I’m not asking for a golf cart but any type of wagon or cart offered to tenants to assist in move-ins or move-outs. She repeated “we do not have a golf cart or a cart you can use”. I said, “okay, let me rephrase my question, do you offer any type of help to tenants to transport items to the trash like a wagon or something.” She says no, then Carlos Lozano chimes in and says we not helping you, we got a lot on our plate today. I look at Victoria and said why is he talking to me. This conversation has nothing to do with him. I proceeded to tell him that his 2 cents was not needed as I was already talking with Victoria, he says so I’m telling you. I told him, bro stop talking to me, Victoria jumps in my face and tells me to calm down. I told her talk to your employee, I’m not the person you need to be de-escalating.
My last words as I got up out of my seat were “wow, this is what I encounter when I come in to inquire about offered services to tenants who are moving out. This is sad.” As I walked out, Carlos says, “see, you still not getting help”. I turned back in and replied, “did that make you feel good to say that?” I asked for the manager’s information so I can share my experience, Victoria comes out of her office talking loudly, sir you are being disruptive. I told her, you didn’t hear what he said to me and I’m asking for you managers information. She proceeds to give me her card, I said, Miss I do not want your card, I want the managing supervisor of this building’s information. I want your bosses card, she says I don’t have one. I said write down their phone number, she said sir you are being disruptive, I walked away and proceeded to write this review.
In closing, different apartments offer different amenities. While it is not the responsibility of the apartment unit to help tenants with moving things out or in, some do offer these as services. I should not have been accosted and disrespected for inquiring. Moreover, information to report a staff member should never be withheld in any capacity when someone is asking for a supervisor.
Victoria Vargas and Carlos Lozano were rude...
