I loved the Little Shelter area that you are able to set up with food when you have a group or a little party there is also a nice skateboard park some people will be a little bit scared of that but it was not interfering with the shelter area so that was very nice it's the way it's set up the skating park is a little bit down the valley so it's nice there's also a field park behind the tree area, across from the parking lot I also like how the park is off of a busy road but yet there is a fence that surrounds the park and some voilage so that it also feels secluded at the same time. My only concern is that you have to make a u-turn on New Hope Road in order to come into the park also GPS doesn't give the best directions on how to get into the park you might have to be changed on GPS but I love this park it's one of the best parks in Raleigh...
Read moreBeautiful park with nice playground equipment. The entire play area is encompassed by a gated chainlink fence and the surrounding landscaping is very pretty and serene. There was no one else at the park on our summer morning weekday visit. Both play structures have a little bit of covering from the sun, and the ground is rubber. Overall, I felt like my toddler was very safe playing here and he seemed to enjoy himself checking out the different equipment. I did notice small bits of trash and empty water bottles on the ground, but just picked them all up and placed them in the trash can and recycling bin provided. The adjoining community center was open during our visit, so we went inside for the bathrooms (very large and clean) and water fountain (the playground fountain is non-operational). Staff there was very nice. We will visit...
Read moreParents: this is not a skatepark for beginners. It is on a hill, everything is steep, skaters have to gain a lot of speed to do anything. A 6 year old on a 3-wheel scooter will get plowed over or cause major injuries to the skaters around them. Please go to a beginners park like Conlon Family Skatepark.
Downsides: no lights for evening skating, sparse parking lot lighting, no restrooms, no water fountains, limited seating, very narrow routes around the perimeter.
There are many creative park + vert routes, but hard to run during peak hours. The Superbowl is real deep. The community turned the gated hockey flat-top into a DIY street park, if you're looking for...
