Mary Belle Pate Park is a wonderful park. It's small enough you will not loose your child in a maze and mound of equipment yet big enough for pre-school - elementary school age students will enjoy. I love the fact that there are public restrooms and a covered area to sit and get out of the sun, or enjoy a quick sip of water and grab a snack. Unfortunately in recent visits I have had a less than positive experience. During my last two visits the bathrooms were not accessible - they had been locked. I would assume this has something to do with the huge dent in the door and possibly the post I read prior to writing this one, regarding vandalism. Our past two visits to this park were cut short due to a group of older kids. Aprox 5 -8 older children, maybe middle school age and/or highschool age were behaving extremely inappropriately. They were bouncing on the equipment in a way that it is not intended to be used. . My number one complaint and the reason I left the park earlier than I had intended was their use of language. From F Bombs to B words and a P word. These kids hit the foul mouth jackpot and took home a gold medal. Every five minutes one of the children loudly pronounced words that no parent wants their young child learning. There was no where on the park equipment or the playground area they could not be heard shouting unwanted language. I did not see any of the older kids parents at the park (most of them were old enough they did not need to be accompanied by an adult) otherwise I would have asked a parent to speak to them. At one point I asked them politely to stop shouting profanity but that went in one ear and out the other. It's a beautiful park. It's too bad you can't bring your young children there without being exposed to...

Children stacked up at the end of slide not letting kids go down cause they are on phones distracted, grown adults lounging in the playground where my child couldnāt even go down the slide.. It was crazy. Donāt bring your kids. To the people who manage the parkā¦.get a new job that you donāt hate or actually come clean it up because I have no words. It...

There is a fabulous picnic shelter with tables, grills and restrooms. The basketball court has push-button lighting with a four square court. I particularly enjoyed the walking trails in the park.
This is lovely and enjoyable and a real boon to those who...
