Walnut Creek Wetland Center — Attraction in Raleigh

What a great place! It's truly a gem. My son and I walked the Walnut Creek trail while my vehicle charged. On the trail we found tons of wildlife including a water snake, box turtle, squirrels, rabbits, and our first verified sighting of a male scarlet tanager. After he flew off we ate some blackberries straight off the cane. We sat on rocks and practiced our bobwhite whistles.
