Where to begin… Alia is truly one of the kindest and most inspiring souls in our community. Her studio is a vibrant hub that breathes life into artists at every stage, from aspiring beginners to seasoned professionals. Alia’s teaching style is one of a deep understanding of classical techniques and traditions, yet she delivers them in a way that’s completely paletable and engaging for everyone. I’ve been attending her workshops since October of last year, and they’ve completely transformed my art practice for the better. Whether you’re participating in one of Alia’s own classes or attending a workshop led by one of the many incredible guest artists she hosts, this is the place to grow, connect, and be inspired. The Tuesday night open figure sessions are tremendous, a perfect way to unwind and recharge with a welcoming community of fellow art nerds.

This past week was the second workshop from Alia’s amazing studio space . The first was with figurative painter Kamille Corry, a Florence Academy graduate , an oil painting workshop . This past weekend was a 6 day emotive figurative sculpture class . Taught by the amazing Zoe DuFour , a Grand Central Atelier student/ graduate and later teacher in the sculpture department . Definitely two of the best work shops I’ve ever taken . All due to the gracious Alia El-Bermani bringing such quality artist to teach workshops at her studio in Raleigh NC . Highly recommend spending time with her and the many talented artist she brings to her studio !!! I’m sure I will be attending again as soon as I can !...

One cannot find a better workshop experience than at Alia Fine Art Studios in Raleigh, NC. The space is fantastic with the charm of old architecture beautifully preserved for artistic use; and equipped with excellent lighting, easels, and worktables. Most importantly, the talent and professionalism was simply the best. Christopher Gallego, the instructor, is a true artist and coach, sharing generously in his quiet and gentle manner. Alia El-Bermani is beyond compare as a workshop coordinator, taking care of every detail with calm proficiency, even walking over and tightening my easel because she noticed a wobble.
