We enjoyed visiting the El Manto River Access area. Close to the American River, it offers an ideal locations to connect with nature without having to venture too far outside the city.

Majestic trees line the banks, providing cooling shade on hot days, but on this cold winter day, we stayed close to the car, yet we were greeted with beautiful views of the flowing river.

One of my favorite activities is walking or cycling along the paved bicycle path that winds parallel to the river from Folsom to Sacramento. It's great for a stroll or bike ride and wildlife spottings are common.

After working up an appetite from hiking or biking, there's nice spots here for a picnic and nap on the grassy areas and benches ideal for dining beside the natural scenic backdrop.

With its abundance of natural sights and experiences just minutes from downtown, the El Manto River Access is an bright spot in the Sacramento area. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy the peaceful ambience of the American River without...

Beautiful spot to go to the river. There is a really nice Park area with up kept lawns. A decent amount of parking. Great for dogs. Good for swimming, though the current is strong so be careful. Good for kids and the whole family. There are snakes in the summer so please be careful. There is lots of wildlife (deer, rabbits, snakes, quail). Great in the summer when it's hot. Also a good place to...

This is an awesome place to swim, kick back, fish, bike/hike, kayak, float ect. Lots of shallow areas but the current picks up in some areas so be careful. Lots of kid friendly spots, and pet friendly. Parking is $5 & not far from the water. There's always enough room to snag a cool spot & cool cliffs to jump off of!...
