August 2021. SARA Park is in a residential area near La Riviera Drive. It's more of an access point to the American River than an actual park. There is a small parking lot which seems to be kept closed, so you have to park on the street. Once you walk through the lot, you have to go up and then down the levee to get to the trails along the river. There are some lovely hidden spots along the river here to enjoy.

Read moreIf you want easy access to the river, this is the place. Parking is limited, but it exists. For those of us who live in this neighborhood, we can walk straight in and pick up one of the many trails or ride your bike onto levee road or, if you're equipped for off-the-road MTB, this is a great place to do that. And, a third option is swimming in the shallow sections where the water flow is slower. Life jackets are still recommended here. All in all, this is a great access point for our best river.
