Robert E. Ryan Community Park — Attraction in Rancho Palos Verdes

Lovely park. A playground with 2 stations, lots of picnic tables, some grills, massive amount of grass and greenery, a good amount of trees if you're looking for shaded areas, and a large section in the back- off to the right- if you're looking for privacy. If you'll be in that area, please keep the noise level down. There is a golf course on one side and backyards/homes on the other. ;) One issue (that can't be helped), the whole park is on a downward sloping hill, so you park and enter at the top, then you have to walk down a good amount of steps (or a ramp) just to get to the bathrooms/office/basketball courts, then more steps to get to the playground. If you want to go further into the grassy area, more downwards. This can be tough if you decided to picnic and are now bringing everything back up. Even worse if your toddler took you down there to explore and now refuses...

My wife and I had our daughter's birthday here in the community center. The space was the size of a small preschool classroom with three tables, kid chairs, (bring your own chairs if your bottom cannot fit in one or if you have physical challenges) sink, fridge, 2 trashcans (which you have to take out when done), counters, very large outdoor patio, restrooms, and a playground/park with beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean.

I'd give them a 5 star however we felt like we were rushed with the time that was allowed. We happen to be the only party that got out of there on time. So I can see where the being rushed feels come in to play. Be aware of that factor if you don't feel that the time allowed is...
