Canyon Lake Park exceeded my expectations at every turn. It is beautifully designed and meticulously maintained, filled with delightful amenities throughout. There are several playgrounds built for every age group, picnic tables placed throughout, grassy hills for the kids to play on, a spectacular flower garden, numerous covered dining facilities available to reserve, scenic trails and bridges in abundance, and the jewel of the park for us - Gazebo Island. Bathrooms are located throughout, although some are not open year round. During the summer months, we definitely found a restroom facility nearby anytime we needed it. The park is teeming with wildlife, and though we don't fish, I saw many people enjoying the facilities, which include several small wooden decks over the lake, and at least one retaining pond. Canyon Lake Park is absolutely...

Canyon Lake Park holds a very special place in my heart having grown up on Rapid. I can say though that it absolutely holds up today. What a phenomenal park!

They divert Rapid Creek from Canyon Lake in multiple spots to canals that run through the park. The little canals and all of the stone masonry were laid as part of the WPA programs back in the 1930's during the depression and they make this park SO MUCH FUN! You could bring homemade boats (or heck, use leaves in a pinch) and race them down the canals like we used to do as kids.

The bike path runs right through the park and Canyon Lake is a gem. Picnic Shelters, multiple playgrounds, what more could...

We came out to take our pooch for her last “walk” as a part of her doggy day. It was a sad trip but was made bearable by the beautiful views and peaceful surroundings. The geese were amenable as we trundled through their space, quietly honking and shuffling about. The gazebo island was also very nice, a little bit of goose poop if you travel into the grassy areas, but it was manageable, and understandable.

Definitely look forward to coming back once the flowers are in, people watching will be a fun way to pass the time while enjoying the calm and...

One of the best parks in the city. It has it all. Plenty of grass (best maintained out of every Park) and play area space with grills that are scattered around for any picnics you may choose. A lake that is stocked with trout with plenty of geese and ducks that are never far away. There are two main gazebos and a Bridgeway that goes to a little mini Island with a small gazebo. If you follow the path across the bridge to the very end section there is another path area that's in a shaded portion along Rapid Creek which is fun to explore.
