The City Park is Reading's "central park" I haven't been there in over twenty years. I stopped by on Thursday March 10 to take some pictures for Google. I saw one dog walker and a family of ducks in the pond over by the bandshell. Obviously the park will be crowded in the coming warmer months. There's really nothing there for me to having me come back to City Park. When I used to volunteer for the Arts Council they would have a summer concert series but I never signed up to volunteer at them.

This park is always a hit or miss for me. Always super crowded. The kids are rude. The older kids come to hang out and be in the way of the younger kids who actually want to utilize the playground. I’m only giving them 3 stars because they added another small playground and splash pad. They still haven’t fixed any damages to the larger original playground though

City Park is a nice place to walk through. If you're into horticulture there is a tropical nursery. There are also maple trees, sycamores maples, and oak trees. They also planted a ring of cherry blossom trees that look amazing in the Spring. Not to mention the purple canna lillies that produce red flowers. There is a fully functional sound stage in the park and occassional concerts. There is a pond stocked with koi and turtles, and home to three families of ducks. If you're looking for a place to shoot hoops. There are about ten courts there. In the summer, the Blacktop league games are in full effect. If you prefer tennis, there are 2 courts. For the 9 and under, there is a playground with...

Just avoid it! Too many teenagers and adults without children hanging out where the small children are at. They don't have regards to your toddler because they rather parkour all over. My kids love the park itself but the people are the problem. It's dirty and ratchet. The middle schoolers here just want to curse and talk about sex around small kids. If you want to enjoy the park go at a time when there are not a lot of...
