Where do I even begin to review The Spinning Wheel, and the staff there? My husband and I are beyond pleased with how absolutely seamless planning a wedding was at the Spinning Wheel. Katelyn was THE BEST, she answered all of our questions, was patient, kind, and beyond helpful planning every detail of our wedding. She is not only a professional, she was amazing helping us create our vision. The servers and bartenders were like nicest people, they were warm, attentive, and truly kind. Katelyn truly made all of our stress melt away. She was always there to help, always there giving us suggestions and ideas, and helped us even find a rehearsal dinner space nearby. The actual facilities of the venue are incredible. From the rustic fireplace to the very very very cool sitting area with the turtle ottoman, everything felt magical. Our ceremony and cocktail hour in the outdoor space was something out of a fairy tale. Everything was clean and beautiful. The venue is designed in a way that your guests don’t feel crowded there is plenty of space to move around, dance and have a great time. Ok now the important part! THE FOOD. Now I am not just saying this because it was my wedding, but holy crap! The food! The passed apps were delicious, warm, and everyone was able to get some without having to look for them. The actual dinner service was brilliant. The food was fresh, hot, and used whole good ingredients that made the food all that better. Everyone who we have spoken to that attended our wedding was in awe of how good the food was! All in all, picking the Spinning Wheel was the best decision my husband and I made. The staff made our day so special and I wanted to sing their praises. Katelyn should teach a class in wedding planning because she was perfect! I don’t even have other words to describe her attention to detail and kindness. Even the next day following the wedding my Husband and I were heading back to the venue to collect our decorations and personal items, Katelyn had them all packed up already. I mean, the sheer relaxation that sets in the day after a wedding to not have to worry about anything…priceless. One last thing, The Spinning Wheel was 100000% LGBTQIA+ friendly. As a Gay man it was really nice being comfortable and safe at a venue and staff. Seriously Katelyn, thank you so much for all of the hard work and patience you put into our wedding. You made our special day magical and for that we will always...
Read moreDisappointing to say the least! The grounds are beautiful as well as the venue itself. However, they fell very short on our 5.22.22 wedding. We felt as though we just got all the leftover staff that was not well trained and that reflected all throughout our reception from start to finish.
We had 8 passed hor d’oeuvres where a lot if not more than half of our guests gave the feedback that they had not seen them. As the bride and groom a tray of each option was not set aside for us which the coordinator stated was an oversight on her end and also had the audacity to state she knew everything was served as she had some herself. My husband also asked one of the servers for a specific hor d’oeuvre and was ignored. So be okay with sharing what you paid for with the staff!
Our bar selection was setup for the custom option instead of the premium which the event coordinator verbally owned up to when it was on a conference call with the owner but, then went back on their word when it was time for email correspondence and having things in writing. The drink server was not well trained and didn’t know the right portions for drinks or how to make basic drinks. We were told we would have had to pay extra for an actual “bartender” which was never mentioned ahead of time.
The actual meals were delicious that’s the only positive I can really give this place and probably their only saving grace. Don’t expect doggy bags (they can’t give them out after 4 hours. Our meals were served at 1:30-2 and reception ended at 5:30 so if the food was packed it technically was not left out for 4 hours but that’s beside the point) and make sure your vendors actually eat or their meal will just be taken away untouched.
For dessert we had a 3-tier cake for 63 guests and 5 vendors. Again, be prepared to share that as well as supposedly all of our cake was served. Don’t expect the tradition of the top tier being saved or any take home unless you ask. Also, not everyone was served coffee including the bride and groom yet again were forgotten about.
There was also a list of other disappointments, but we wanted to touch the main points. Essentially, the ones that made us feel that we didn’t get what we paid for.
So, we wouldn’t suggest this place if you want to be treated as people of importance as the bride and groom as well as your guests being...
Read moreHORRIBLE. I recently attended a wedding at The Spinning Wheel, and I must express my deep dissatisfaction with the entire experience.
The bride and groom had paid for an open bar for over 120 guests, yet the venue only provided a tiny makeshift bar outside with just two bartenders. This resulted in ridiculously long lines—over 30 minutes for a drink. To make matters worse, the young bartenders, who appeared to be barely out of their teens, began cutting guests off within the first hour, despite no one being overly intoxicated. It was absurd to see them turning away guests who were just trying to enjoy the celebration.
When I approached the owner to address this issue on behalf of the bride + groom, he lied and claimed that only one guest had been cut off. However, after speaking with the bartenders, it became clear that the count was currently at five guests that had been refused service. The atmosphere became tense, and it felt as if the staff were more interested in conserving alcohol for future events than ensuring that guests could enjoy the celebration. The owner asked to speak in a side room once he realized other guests could hear him. His attitude was even WORSE in private.
Overall, my experience at The Spinning Wheel was far from what one would expect from a wedding venue. I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for a professional and enjoyable setting for their special day. The owner’s attitude and the poor bar service left a sour taste. Save yourself the hassle and choose a venue that values its guests and provides the service you deserve!
