We love this trail!
It is a fairly easy hike with only a few rocky incline stretches. Most of the trail is grated.
Kids will enjoy the "footprints" in the concrete along the path and the interactive signs to read about the history, can make it pretty fun for the littles.
If you have kiddos in a stroller, take a LEFT- you can hike up the side, which will lead you to the picnic tables (hike clockwise). If you hike RIGHT counter-clockwise, you will hit the rocky incline, which may be difficult for small kiddos, and very tough for strollers.
Dog friendly but note that there is a fox den in the middle of the park so be mindful and keeping your dog close is key. Folks said they saw snakes (we did not).
Very clean and if you hit the trail early, not very busy!
**note that there are zero trash cans; pack out what you pack in, including dog bags. And you'll need to bring your own bags if you have a dog and...
Read moreWe pulled off on the way to Colorado national monument when we say the sign for Dinosaur Hill and we imagined dinosaur bones still ended in the hillside similar to Trail Through Time on your a few miles from this place.
Instead there is a loop hole that is about a mile long to the top of the hill and sounds the back with signs along the way. Basically a dinosaur Skelton was found here about 100 years ago and all that remains is a fenced of tunnel where the dino was excavated from.
The are no dinosaur bones to be found on the hill.
There are beautiful view to be seen of the nearby Colorado National Monument and the mountains in the distance. There is also a nice picnic area. But that is about it.

Read moreBeautiful topography, but the inclines & declines may kick your behind & tire you out, & they have the biggest fire ants I've ever seen with a robust population so watch your step. There are orbs at the top of the hill if you're into that. You feel a lot of energy up there. A lot of it is not happy welcoming energy either, so bring extra peace & joy with you when you go. There are next to no amenities & everything is fairly worn down. I'd bring my own snacks & drinks & have those down in the parking lot where there's an easy access trash can. & I personally didn't see any snakes, but it's the type of area that likely has them, so if you have kids or dogs that wander off be mindful that off the path is not where the park has set up for...
