219 acres make this park the largest municipal park in Minnesota. It is gorgeous throughout. There are trails from one entrance to the next, some harder than others. There's a smaller zoo with bison, elk, deer, goats, and birds. There is also a campground, many picnic areas, shelter houses, and be sure to check out the Zeb Grey shelter near the west entrance. The view from there is amazing. The star of the park is Ramsey Falls. The Falls are accessible to everyone, and they're also wonderful every season of the year. The first weekend in May, the Falls and trails are lit up for Night Falls. You can walk or drive through for this event. As a local, I drive through a couple of times a week just to enjoy the never-ending beauty.

Elk is overheating and panting has no inside shelter all the water that they have is old and gross. the birds are plucking out there own feathers there was 2 now only one have no idea what happened to his buddy. The Buffalo always are irritated and don’t belong in a zoo. I’ve seen the new mom bison ram her head into the gate serval times while children and parents taunt her and her baby. overall the worst little zoo ever. they don’t take care of there animals well and I have never seen anyone with or around the animals taking care of them. And don’t think I just came here once. I live down the street and come and check on these animals daily. It’s so sad to see this. Do better.

Ramsey Park is an amazing place to visit for the weekend with multiple things to do for all ages! There are multiple RV hookups and RV cleaning station along with many places to place a tent. Another great aspect of the park is there are four free single showers and 2 different buildings with men and women bathrooms. The prices are very reasonable at 15 dollars a night for a spot for 2 tents and slightly a bit more with an electrical RV / tent reserved spot. There is a waterfall and zoo with many trails leading along the river running through the park. There is great respect from the other daily campers that are visiting for the weekend. The maximum amount of days that can be spent/reserved there for a consecutive amount of days is 7 days and 6 nights. The matinenance team at the park does a great job at keeping the grass mowed and kept up along with the great landscaping around the area. The Park is typically very full during the weekend days with people camping, playing at the park, goijg to the zoo, or celebrating at the indoor shelter. The zoo has quite a bit of different types of animals in caged shelters. Some of the zoo animals consist of very large bison, goats, geese, swans, peacocks, elk, whitetail deer, pheasants and grouse, prairie dogs, and ducks. Overall this is a park I will definitely be going back to...

Excellent campground. Very very well taken care of area and facilities. Park Ranger Mike was SUPER friendly, informative, funny, and enthusiastic! We tent camped one night and had a blast. Although the tent-only area was a little small, the bathrooms were kept nice and they had recycling as well. They also had a wash area for pots and pans that was great. You can tell that the city of Red Wood Falls really takes pride in this great park and caters to everyone and not just RV campers or shelter renters.

We didn't hike any trails unfortunately, but we did have a gander at the cool little zoo area that is at the park. It seemed like the animals were well-taken care of, although the enclosures for the caged birds seemed particularly small. The price was good (although it was weird that they added tax to the price -- $16.03 to camp for one night), and it was much cheaper than all Minnesota state parks at $27 per night.

Wonderful place and would...

I recently rented the Lower Shelter at Ramsey Park to host a family picnic. I live 100 miles away, so I had to reserve it sight unseen. I was not disappointed. Not only was it clean, it was a beautiful facility in a beautiful setting.

The lower shelter has all the amenities you need for your gathering. Compared to what shelter rentals cost in the Twin Cities, the price was extremely reasonable for what you get:

all tables as promised on the website, plus extras. wall benches for extra seating and storage two fireplaces a cement pad for outdoor seating. water source right outside the structure plenty of outlets (tip: Bring a fan on a hot day) bright lighting conveniently located near restrooms, parking, playground and the zoo

Though the day was warm and humid, everyone stayed cool and comfortable. The walls are made of thick stone, moderating the indoor temperatures, and cutouts for windows and doorways kept a pleasant cross...
