It's so beautiful that it stops you in your tracks. Depending on the time of day and lighting, the rock takes on different hues. This unit is right off highway 19. There's not much room to pull off of the road, so drive slowly so you don't miss it. I received a question about parking. There is currently no formal dedicated parking lot for viewing Cathedral Rock. There is signage (small) and a couple of turnouts on the shoulder of the road in each direction. Adjacent to the formation is farm land and the John Day River. You can apply these coordinates to see a satellite view of the area. N44.630976, W119.645545
