Hi, I’ve been coming here every year for scary movies for Halloween for about 3-4 years now. Up until now, it’s been pretty fun and a good tradition that my family does. However, on my most recent visit, I was unpleasantly surprised.
I was watching the movie and chatting with some friends, when one of the actors came over to spook us; I guess they had decided that they wanted to join the conversation that we were having, and we talked with the actor for about 30 minutes. I’m not sure if they’re allowed to do this, as I would figure they’re supposed to go to other cars and not just chat with patrons, but for the first few minutes it was pretty cool to talk with one of the actors. However, for some reason, the actor started to insult me. I thought it was a joke at first, as I knew that some actors would taunt the customers, but they did not stop. They said that my hairstyle sucked, and that I needed to see a barber, it was funny. I laughed that off, of course, but they didn’t let up. They said it in a very serious, conversational tone, not even in a taunting way, just like they meant it. The actor also insulted the clothes I was wearing, saying that they were too professional for a drive-in movie. I laughed, so did my friends, but the tone was way off. I tried to change the topic of conversation, but the actor eventually went back to my hair and how I looked, then said I had the worst hairstyle out of my friends, it was funny, but it also did hurt. At this point, I was highly uncomfortable, but I played a long with it. They told me what I should do with my hair, and then started comparing me to ugly cartoon characters and actors. Still, I went along, and I messed with my hair a little bit and took a photo of it, putting my hair in front of my eyes to make myself seem silly, and I’m the actor touched my nose to brush aside some of my hair, which I don’t think they’re supposed to do.
Again, I get that they’re supposed to taunt you, for scares, but this wasn’t what I usually experienced here. I came here to get spooked, and maybe taunted at from some actors in good spirits, not to be insulted for nearly 30 minutes by 1 actor who would not leave our car. They would pull other actors from the side and asked them to judge if I had a good hairstyle, which I thought was really unprofessional, most of the actors just walked away though.
I came here for spooks, not for bullying. For me, this completely ruined the original feeling of the place, and I don’t know if I’ll be...
Read moreEh. I don’t get it. I love Halloween and thought seeing Halloween on Halloween would be the pinnacle of this experience. The page even has a FAQ that asks what kind of special effects will be used “ A wide variety of guaranteed to impress! You may experience strobe and flashes, loud bangs, sounds, fog, and more depending on current government restrictions and permittance”
I was not impressed. I don’t understand all these positive reviews or the price. Was it cause it rained a little?
We pulled up to some storage containers that had a couple fog machines and some lights a dog made sure we didn’t have a gun in the car. Then we were directed inside.
I was presented with the smallest movie screen I’ve ever seen at a drive in. Zero special effects. Just a couple lights and the fog and loud music playing.
Food was cold. No instructions on how w drive in should run for people who haven’t been before. Which resulted in multiple cars around us messing with lights throughout. Even had a few people let in after opening and they were driving with headlights on.
During movie I was expecting these special effects and haunted interactions but it was just teenagers dressed in costumes standing outside peoples cars and staring at you. (The actors did the best they could with what they were given)
$60-80 a car to watch a movie on a small screen and have some kids stand outside your car and stare… eh I don’t get it. I expected...
Read moreIf you haven’t gone to one of their shows your missing out!! I am an Oregonian and we have our major Portland haunted houses, but they ain’t got nothing on these guys! It was worth the hour trip up here, ontop of the fun, their team seem to have a lot of safety and had protocols to follow and it was great to see how subtle they took to having to carry those types of safety issues out. The actors were great and interactive, even though there was a line the horror festers and the enjoyment of the actors made it so much fun. It’s was beautifully decorated and looked amazing, glad to make new traditions cause this will definitely be one...
