UPDATE- August 2018 Wow... What happened to this place in such a short amount of time is simply ridiculous. It's gotten really bad here with all the vagrants that have moved in and literally taken over the trail. It's obvious the problem which was once The City of Anaheim's migrated and is now The City of Riverside's problem. I would NOT travel alone on the trail anymore, regardless of gender/size/strength you may be.
There's a clear distinction between those who are homeless, fell on hard times, and need help, and those who are drug users, have mental health issues, or are violent in nature. I can tell you from the amount of needles and the ambient smell, and the amount of people who are screaming and yelling at nothing into the air, use extreme caution as you approach anywhere near Van Buren Blvd. I was chased by a vagrants dog while him and his buddies did nothing about it.
Old review- The trail itself was recently repaved from Rubidoux mountain to the wildlife preserve in Norco! It's a great trail to do anything distance related. Several Parks along the way to catch your breath or use the restroom. No streets or intersections to worry about either, so if your wanting to time yourself for distance training it's a great trail to do just that.
