Fishburn Park — Attraction in Roanoke

Great park. Love the trials. I would be hesitant to walk some of them when it has rained. I suddenly realized that I had nothing to hold on to. It was a little scary since I had my dog and if he saw another dog or any animal I would have fell.

Also has a somewhat big playground. No one was using it when I was there. A lot of people were in the picnic area, but there are a lot of tables and there was still room.

Has restrooms, a small creek, shelters, frisbee golf and tennis courts. I didn't go into the restroom.

I've only been here once. Loved it and looking forward to going back. Downsides include the lack of benches in some areas. I was fine with sitting in the grass, though. And you can see and hear traffic from where I was.

Me (after parking the car): I don't know why people recommend this park for a hike. Me (after waking around the park): I can't wait to come back and explore some more! My first impression, the view from the parking lot and walking along Brambleton, was less than enthusiastic. But once we crossed the bridge where the Stream Trail starts, I loved it. There are more trails to explore than the map in the parking lot shows. The stream is lovely and peaceful. Brambleton traffic can still be heard, but it feels like you left it way behind. The loop walk is suitable for small children (but not strollers) because you can keep it to a mile and it is mostly flat. The only reason I’m giving this a 4 star ⭐️ is because the trail map does NOT tell you were to start 🏃‍♀️ so I’m leaving a video and inform you, you want to start your trail walk over by the covered picnic area-tennis 🎾 courts. FYI Roanoke county parks need to make the tennis 🎾 courts into pickle 🥒 ball courts. This way you will see more use out of them. Ok 👌 the trail splits off after you cross the bridge 🌁 by the road to the left and right.
