PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING TO DOG PARK! My boyfriend and I took our dog out to the dog park after buying a year pass. Two women were out walking their dogs and their group of dogs attacked my dog. It was absolutely heartbreaking since he is so sweet, nonaggressive, and was terrified crying out unable to defend himself against multiple dogs. He had multiple small bites and cuts and one large chunk taken out of his leg. My boyfriend and I are not naĆÆve and realize anything can happen when it comes to dogs socializing but we at least expected the two women to do the right thing and exchange info with us to cover the emergency after hours vet bill. Instead they became extremely confrontational and fled the scene. We are so grateful at least that our dog was ok. He had surgery and had a drain put in with multiple vet visits. We had such high hopes for the dog parks since we do not have a large yard and hoped he could have fun socializing. Now he is scared of other dogs. The vet told us they have had so many dogs come in from being attacked at the local dog parks and told us never to go back!...

Also, make sure you have a membership (even if it is a day pass) cause the park rangers wonāt ask but the patrons of the dog park will. If you want to avoid crowds and other dogs, go as early as you can (preferably after sunrise). Patrons start coming after 10am and it gets really busy after 3pm.
