A beautiful old park in Old Rockford, up the side of a great hill with winding paths through the forests and clearings. It's a fabulous place to walk with your family or your dogs. There are children's play areas, picnic tables, and lots of paved and natural walking paths. For me, the majesty is in the old-growth trees, and the views you can get from the plateau at the top of the great hill that change with the seasons. The Sinnissippi Band Shell often has music acts (usually free of charge) near the top of the hill that run all summer. Sinnissippi Golf course starts out of the clubhouse near the crest of the hill. And in Winter, there are numerous activities as well, with snow sculpting competitions and the Festival of Lights, with vignettes of Christmas built, decorated, and sponsored by civic-minded groups and organizations. We used to come here when I was a child for sledding and cross-country skiiing. One of my favorite places for years.

Sinnissippi Gardens is a beautiful place to visit while in Rockford. So many varieties of trees and plants to walk around and look at. There is a wonderful walking path and a beautiful pond with little creeks running into it. The pond is full of goldfish, ducks swimming around, frogs and even a pair of beautiful swans! Waterfalls too! There is a giant green house building full of tropical plants. It was closed so I wasn't able to enter this time. Lots of people everywhere, family's with kids, single people, all enjoying this beautiful place! Everyone polite, nice and saying hi to each other!

It's been encouraging to see this area be improved over the last several years, to become a comfy spot where people can walk any time of year. With koi ponds, sculpture, swans, and blooming roses to enjoy in the warmer months, changing foliage to enjoy in autumn, and a beautiful holiday light display in December and early January, as well as a paved path which has been conscientiously well-lit right along the river, this place is a must-visit. The conservatory (which one also should take a visit inside) provides a lovely backdrop for photos as well.

Awesome place to spend any time of the day. The Rock river is right along side. There is a pathway for running, walking or biking. There are other activities along the path to do and explore. There is also a train ride to know the history. Perfect for taking kids. The is also an Italian ice and snacks food cart as well as kids play ground. Right now they have xmas lights which as perfect for the holidays.

This is a lovely public park and conservatory. They have different features depending on the time of year, like butterflies in the spring. We went to see the Christmas lights but were a couple weeks early since they don't light it up until after Thanksgiving. Our girls spent a chilly evening feeding the swans and ducks amidst the colorfully lit water feature and walkway.

Beautiful place! Small but full of very pretty flowers and plants. The butterfly house is VERY small but still fun. I like that they give us a little sugar stick to be able to pick up the butterflies and see them up close. It's definitely geared towards kids. The people here were super knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed our visit a lot.
