This review is of Rockport as a destination, not the Visitor Center specifically. We were just there earlier today and were surprised to find that, at lunch time on a Wednesday at the height of the summer tourist season, what seemed like a majority of the restaurants in the Bearskin Neck area were closed. Something has definitely happened to Rockport since we last visited a few years ago: so many places closed down; the place looking, overall, more than a little shabby; and tourists standing in the streets looking shocked at not being able to find a place to eat, understandably wondering why, in a place devoted to tourism, no place was open.
