We stayed here for our wedding weekend, so I did go in having some level of expectation, but I was very disappointed.
Check-in was great, and the evening staff at the time were kind. Upon entering the room, though, I was underwhelmed. It seemed they have attempted some updating, but not much more. It seemed very lived-in, and paint appeared to be peeling in certain areas, but not really a huge issue. What became an issue was the cleanliness and the attitude of staff later in our stay.
We ended up having ants in our room, near the mini fridge. We informed front desk staff in the morning, and they said they would have someone over quickly to take care of it. We left for the day and came back to the room…to find nothing had been taken care of. Our room had not been touched at all. I went to the front desk to ask about the ants (which were still an issue) and any turn down service (could I get extra towels, etc). The woman who appeared to be a night manager had an attitude when she told me they were not doing housekeeping at the time. We were not informed of this upon check-in, and it seemed she did not believe me when I said we were not told. We were polite, and said that’s fine, and simply asked for a few extra towels. The staff member behind the desk was able to take care of the ants and the towels, and he was very nice. I had other wedding guests (family) staying at the same hotel, and they were not informed of the lack of housekeeping either. What hotel does not do any housekeeping during a guest’s stay, or at least doesn’t inform you that they are not?
The upside was the free breakfast, which consisted of a few packaged oatmeal and bagels and coffee. While it’s simple and I would have liked to see more options, I do understand there are limitations when it’s a “free breakfast.” This wasn’t a huge issue for us, and it’s an amenity we appreciated.
The entrance to the hotel is very nice, with what appears to be updated flooring and lighting/fixtures. The fitness center was also very nice and spacious. However, that appears to be the only aspect of the hotel that has been kept up consistently. It is the aspect that is highlighted in photos.
We spent over $900 to stay for 4 nights, and it is definitely not worth that price. I definitely feel “catfished” by the photos and the description of the rooms.
Pros: free simple breakfast, nice fitness center, location in Rockport (easy walking distance to downtown area)
Cons: lack of communication of expectations to guests, cleanliness, attentiveness, price for what you get
Overall, I would not choose to stay here again. I would...
Read moreNot worth it! We were there for a wedding which was held elsewhere. Room was musty and damp. We were in the 400 series of rooms. Paid well over $300 per night - for a street level room staring at the parking lot and prepackaged pastry for the “breakfast included.” I contemplated sleeping in my car the first night. We ate at another Hotel. We arrived and the front desk attendant was outside smoking a cigarette at the front entrance - just a bad 1st impression, she did not say “welcome” or even “hello”. The cigarette butts were put out just outside of the entrance as well. Room was not clean in some areas, spider webs on ceiling. I would never recommend the rooms on street level! Breakfast was hard boiled eggs and packaged pastries - very unappealing. Bedding was pilly. Towels were worn. Toiletries were cheap. Plus, not much to do or see at this hotel/motel. Unfortunately, our Daughter left diamond earrings in her room - after checkout - she called and was told “nothing was found” … Really? They probably never researched it! Basically, we paid $700 x 2 and lost $2000 for the earrings and got nothing in return. Just a bad beginning and a bad ending. Management, do you even exist? These reviews are not good. We will visit the area again and...

Management was no where to be found but this lovely lady, I think her name is Toni? Tony? Tonya.. she was AMAZING. I have had issues with bookings and issues with management here before, but never with the front desk staff.
Not sure why the front desk staff aren’t in management positions.
They should be.
100000000 stars for Toni!
Recently stayed here with family, we are repeat customers.
Firstly, the really redeeming quality about this very expensive place, is the one front desk person they have in the evenings. I believe her name is Heather, this young lady has gone above and beyond for us, and from what I have seen many other guests. She’s graciously and swiftly handled a variety of issues we had from being double booked, (not by her) to frozen locks, and a bunch of other issues that we were faced with (none of which were from her, but clearly are issues with management) we have gotten to know Heather and a few other staff members pretty well and her new SD in training❤️ huge hit with our kids, and as a former K9 myself (Army) it’s really great to see how well she is training her SD.
FWIW The beds are surprisingly comfortable. The rooms are always clean and the service has been amazing.
This gets a 4 star due to price,...
